I've been on this medicine for a week, I have way more energy and I have to remind my self to eat, but I ate a piece of fried chicken yesterday and I thought I was gonna die, tonight I had a slice of pizza for dinner and I'm feeling the same way. If I eat grilled chicken on the George Forman with no grease I have no issues. Is this normal?
Hi, nausea is a less common or rare side effect: https://www.drugs.com/sfx/contrave-side-effects.html
I suggest you also read this which is an easy read explaining everything in plain language: https://www.drugs.com/contrave.html
You cannot consume any alcohol on this medication at all, it will make you feel dreadful. It is also supposed to be part of a calorie controlled diet with exercise. Fried foods are full of calories, whereas there are low fat foods which can be more filling and will leave you satisfied; not hungry and empty.
Good luck with it all, I know how hard some people battle losing weight.
Yes, high fat meals or food items can cause nausea. The high fat is suspected to eat the coating on the pill and make the medications release quicker into your system. The pills are meant to be time-released. I would be careful about eating high fat items. Especially in the beginning. You can always balance a high fat food with a low fat food. An apple with cheese. Fried chicken with green beans. That sort of thing. Hope this helps!
