Open wound treatment began with bacitracin ointment. Can mupirocin be used instead of bacitracin to continue treatment?

Despite both medicines being commonly prescribed topical antibiotics you should not use the mupirocin unless your doctor has told you to do so.
If you have run out of ointment, or are concerned that it is not healing as it should, call your doctor.
