My husband has an inflamed sebaceous cyst and doctor prescribed mupirocin ointment to apply topically and an antibiotic to consume named cefixime. The mupirocin is giving him an extreme tingling pain and he was unable to sleep. Should we continue this medication or stop it?

He should discontinue the use of the medication and contact his Dermatologist first thing tomorrow morning and explain the situation he is undergoing as you have done on this site.

Thank you for your support. The doctor asked him to continue cefixime antibiotic and changed his ointment but he seems to hv a sore and pink sebaceous cyst even now and in the evenings the pain is bothering him. The cyst seems have gone smaller but still looking sore - light pink in color. He was also asked to take an anti inflammatory medication but it hasn't helped. Do the cysts hurt more in the nights while being treated with an antibiotic like cefixime? Is this normal? Is it OK to apply natural aloe vera on it to ease the soreness?
