Kandykilla420,
I have heard of some people TRYING to get high on citalopram because it can cause weird/abnormal dreams. Like Rajive pointed out, there are much worse side effects from this med that would seriously outweigh the potential "high"-convulsions, suicidal ideations, nausea, vomiting, and heart palpiatations, just to name a few. I would second Rajive's idea to talk with your daughter and find out why she's taking them. Hope this helps.
Hi all; From Sacosam's "for what it's worth dept"... "NOPE" "been there, done that"! Sacosam
Hope this Helps...
Citalopram is a prescription medication that is licensed to treat depression in adults. By balancing the levels of a certain chemical in the brain, the medicine is effective in improving the symptoms of depression. In clinical studies, people who took citalopram were also less likely to relapse. Potential side effects of the drug include drowsiness, sweating, and nausea.
Perhaps you need to talk to your daughter, don't really think that Citalopram will make anyone 'high', but its always recommended to talk to a pharmacist for more & accurate info.
Take care, & wish your daughter well!
I have recently been prescribed Citalopram and took it for the first time last night. Within an hour, I did start to feel a type of high. However, this didn't last very long, as drowsiness and nausea set in. All throughout the night as I slept, I had periodic moments that woke me from my sleep. Around 7 am, I was jolted from my sleep with this surge of what felt like electricity. I woke up with slight nausea that went away within an hour resulting in no other side effects.
I have been taking Citalopram For well over a year might be 2 I take Hydros. to for pain and because of the combo. it will help stop the pain so high most likely. hop this helps.
Ahhhhh your daughter... Meaning you obviously, why would you find a bottle an then ask how many to get high?
So obviously you, anyway no you won't get high, apart from get some bad side effects!
