To keep my friend SweetLemon out of the the trash bin I have given you the info about baclofen from the site. I hope this helps you...
https://www.drugs.com/baclofen.html
Lemon's already dusty enough! LOL
Thank you! That's crazy it says it can increase your risk of developing an ovarian cyst which I already have issues with. I NEED to find a new Dr ASAP!!! This is one more thing added to an already long list of reasons. Again~ Thsnks!
It's 7am and you and Wendy have me in hysterics!! Thanks Mary for providing that link! Now why didn't I think of that? duhhhhhhhhhh, a bit of a dullard is Lara the last week or two! LOL
How goes it on Baclofen cessation? I'd love to know how you are doing? Still yakking? Still nauseated? I miss my Baclofen so much I could weep!
But there must be another MR that works just as well without turning one into a bulimic!
Best wishes,
sweet lemon (Mary, Wendy... look out ladies!! lol)
Hi Tiffany,
Yes, I forgot about ovarian cysts (Mary had to tell me)!! Get thy self to your OB/Gyn asap. Try not to worry too much though?
Please keep us updated?

yes, that was a surprise to me when I read it the first time! If you haven't been on it very long, I would just stop it myself, but check with your doctor first... Mary
Hi Tiffany,
Unfortunately I just tossed the information on baclofen in the trash! How much were you taking? Yes, yakking up your dindin is one of the many side effects of abrupt cessation or an allergy. Nausea as well.
It's best to back off of it semi-slowly. I was taking 6 a day and went down to three for one day then one for several days and I was OK after that.
How long were you taking it? Was it 10 mgs? Let me know, and I'll try to help if I am able.
Lara P.S. I shall dig through the dustbin to find the literature for you!
I looked through the dustbins with no luck! I can tell you that when I went off, I felt a wee bit down. The pain relief it provided for me was incredible, and of course when baclofen cessation stopped, pain came back with a vengeance! So take it easy, drink gingerale, and taper off of it!!
Thank you for the response! I am going thru a lot right now(day 4 on suboxone trying to get off of opiates) but had just stopped taking the baclofen about a week ago. I was taking 10mg 2-6 times a day. I didn't find that it helped me much, but I have also been making some poor choices- to put it mildly. I'm REALLY starting to get the feeling that the Dr (Nurse Practitioner) I see-in a sense-is less than qualified. She tells me to just stop meds & switches me from one to another (ex: zoloft to cymbalta) without having me taper. Maybe in the example I just gave it's ok~ the problem is I'm not sure and there are many other 'examples' I could use. My mom(whom has a bi-polar diagnosis) told me that her psychiatrist that she has been seeing for about 18years has NEVER had her abruptly stop one med to change to another~ there was always a taper involved.
Oh hells bells, my comment came up in the wrong place, it was supposed to be right after Tiffany's comment!
Tiffany, you are on Subs and you've gone cold turkey off Baclofen too? Does your NP know of this? You really are taking on a lot doing this!!
Keep us updated friend,
Lara
My Dr doesn't know yet that I'm on the suboxone but she is the one who suggested that I maybe give it a try. I told her that 4-10mg norco/day just isn't working for me & that I felt like I would benefit from something long lasting so I wouldn't always be worrying if I took something early enough to not let my pain get out of control. Told her the only thing I had been on that helped long term was methadone but that I was NOT willing to go thru another clinic due to the hour long drive each way. The Suboxone Dr works at the same office I go to. I will be calling first thing Mondy morning for a 2nd appt. I feel like it's my only option to get clean. From all the research I've done(mostly on this site) I feel when used the right way~ Suboxone can be a very helpful tool. I have been in contact with Robert & have read MANY posts from Patti AND yourself~ so I know I will not be alone in this. Thank you SO much for being here. The support you give with kindness and oh so needed humor is like a breath of fresh air! THANK YOU!!! 'n
