What is Byvalson used for?

Byvalson (nebivolol and valsartan) is used for the treatment of hypertension, to lower blood pressure. Lowering blood pressure may reduce the risk of heart attack or stroke.

The Byvalson tablet is a fixed-dose combination containing nebivolol 5 mg and valsartan 80 mg.

Nebivolol is a beta adrenergic blocker and valsartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB).

Byvalson was the first combination beta blocker and angiotensin II receptor blocker available in the U.S. It is now discontinued.
