I've taken oxycodone for many years and I would like to try this buprenorphine for my chronic pain although I am concerned with the stigma of this medication being given to only addicts but I've heard that it does help with pain.

"Physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners who have a current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration with authority to prescribe controlled substances can prescribe buprenorphine for OUD , though some states may have additional requirements to do so."
