When is it best to take Armour Thyroid? I have heard varied answers describing in the morning, and at night. As well as on an empty stomach or that it doesn't matter.
When to take Armour Thyroid?

Well the studies that show to take thyroid medication at night and on an empty stomach did not evaluate Armour that I have seen. They were mostly for levothyroxine (Synthroid). This doesn't really help you any since Armour is used within hours after being taken. So, I guess my answer is: Evidence wise it isn't known if Armour will be better absorbed at night. It also can't hurt to take at night. Taking it on an empty stomach is better for the absorption of both meds (which is one of the reasons why researchers think taking thyroid meds at night is better).
Some people have to take it with food and if that happens then they always have to take it with food or risk TSH fluctuations (and doctors get annoyed with those because at times you won't be getting enough drug)
Hope that helps!
What foods should I avoid when taking this medicine? I read that certain foods can affect this medicine negatively.
