... started out with only 1 mg (liquid) and am now up to 4 mg (liquid). Is this enough or do I need to keep increasing it?
Has anyone had success with Lexapro on a very low dose? I am very sensitive to medication and?

The other question is has anyone had any success taking antidepressants? Sadly there is a lot of trail and error. You have to try it on a low dose for 4 weeks. If you don’t feel any different or better then it is one of two things; dose to low, medication is not going to help you. SSRI’s basically do pretty much the same thing, block serotonin reuptake. So if one isn’t working then will taking essentially the same thing from another manufacturer be any different? As a skeptic if your having issues and it’s not helping then maybe you shouldn’t take this type of medication.
Hi, Marla!
Everybody responds differently and so some will need a higher dose and others may find that a low dose is sufficient to control their symptoms.
You only need to increase your dose if you still have symptoms of your depression/anxiety at the dosage you're taking. Only you know how you feel and it's your choice to stay where you are or increase if you feel you need to.
Be sure though to give the medication a fair trial before you decide... at least 4-8 weeks.
