I am on on 50mg of Pristiq. For the first 8 days it was great. Day 9 I started feeling chest tightness (anxiety feeling). I have been on it for 2 1/2 weeks and am wondering if this will go away. My doctor seems to think it will. I just want some reassurance. Please help!
Has anyone felt anxiety chest pressure being on 50mg of Pristiq?

This is from the literature:
"Side effects have been reported to be generally mild and transient. They are most common during the first 2 weeks of treatment and decrease in intensity and frequency with continued treatment. They generally do not lead to treatment cessation."
I should think the side effects should start to resolve very soon for you. If they persist much longer though let your doctor know. Whether he believes you or not it needs to be determined that it's actually a side effect of the medication.
50mg is a pretty strong starter dose. I believe there is a 25mg and perhaps you'd adjust better to that dose before increasing your dosage if needed.
