I’m a 47 year old female. Diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder back in June. I was prescribed 2mg of Abilify at the time. It seemed to be working great for my mood swings and depression in the beginning but I’ve noticed I feel numb, anxious and exhausted basically all the time. Struggling with if it’s the meds or if I need an addition to it. Anyone have experience with taking just Abilify for BPD without any other meds?
Can anyone tell me their experience with taking 2mg of Abilify for BPD?

Hi LLF11,
I'm a 48 yr old female, I was diagnosed with BPD about 13 years ago, and I was also diagnosed with major depression when i was 16, I've been on meds ever since. While I don't have experience with Abilify taken alone, I did take it in addition to 40 mgs Prozac and it helped me significantly. I was on it for 3-4 years, I'd never felt better in my life, unfortunately I had to go off the Abilify due to weight gain that was hurting my physical health (this doesn't happen to everyone, I'm not trying to scare you, just explaining why I stopped it when it helped me so much mentally). I'm thinking you may benefit from Abilfy more if you have an antidepressant added to it, depression seems to be a part of BPD. I would definitely talk to your Dr about how you're feeling right now and ask if adding an antidepressant would be right for you. Good luck! I'm hoping you can get as much relief as I did from Abilfy (or Abilify and an antidepressant).
