tess1938, I cannot give an answer but I too was wondering about breo. i read it was for copd only. i am new to these forums and appreciate all the questions and answers. i am on spiriva ventolin and symbicort for 6 years now. and oxygen 24/7. i have severe copd and my lifesaver is the ventolin. i also read spiriva is for asthma which i do not Have. but my dr says i am fine even though i struggle everyday to get a breath.
sorry i could not answer at this time. i hope someone can help you out.
I see my doctor Tuesday and will inquire about Breo Ellipta. I am currently on Qvar, Spiriva, Foradil and ProAir rescue inhaler. I too have severe COPD. Have to be careful of inhalers since I had esophageal candida twice. Thanks for the reply. Take care.
I did speak with my doctor and he said Breo would replace Qvar and Foradil that I currently taking. He didn't seem too impressed so I will continue with the meds I am currently taking: Qvar, Spiriva, Foradil and for fast acting: ProAir.
I've been on Breo for 5 months now it is better than the Advair that I was on for 14 years. The only problem i am having so far is gaining weight. I've gained a pound a month. I found that adding singuliar nightly has helped me even more.
I have been on Breo for a year and it is helping me better than advair. I also was on Singular for a year along with the breo and both together has me on an even road to fitness. I was allergic to spiriva. if you can walk any it will help with your breathing and that is a step forward. Also try breathing techniques: Inhale through your nose and exhale as long as you can through your nose than do it several times more. Do this as many times as you remember throughout the day and you will also notice a difference in your breathing. Hope this is helpful as this has helped me more than you know.
