I've been on most of the SSRI's (they make me wired and more anxious) and 2 SNRI's (which are great but cause me to sweat buckets), and I've just started on Wellbutrin. I'm 2 weeks in and it's been a very very tough 2 weeks, I can cry at the drop of a hat, and the emotional pain feels unbearable, I'm going through lots of different feelings though out each day, my OCD is a bit worse and I do feel rather anxious too. I'm also have these very odd brain zaps/dizziness. I'm only on 150mg - my doctor has suggested going to 300mg. I just wondered if anyone could offer any words of wisdom, can this drug suddenly kick in and do what it's meant to, or are these few weeks a reflection of what life might be like on these tablets.
Can anyone help. Does anyone have any advice please on Wellbutrin/bupropion?

Hi, Carrie!
No, life improved greatly, at least for me, after the initial side effects subsided which generally is within the first few weeks. Because I'm Bipolar with anxiety disorders I can't take any of the standard antidepressants but because it's an atypical I tolerate bupropion very well.
Many people begin to feel some improvements much sooner but it usually takes about 4-6 weeks for the medication to become fully therapeutic.
I've been on it now for about a year and it's made a huge difference in my life. I think if you can tolerate the side effects just a bit longer your metabolism will adjust to the drug.
Best regards and I hope it works as well for you.
Thank you ever so much for your experience. I think - I was expecting - well just not to feel THIS bad. But I will keep going for a bit longer - thanks again.
