... I started generic Zoloft 12 mg, tomorrow will be 3 weeks. The past week and a half I have been? taking 25 mg. I can tell a big difference in my mood. I am not crying like I used to. My anxiety is better, still not where I want to be. My complaint is my whole body is shaking. I need the medicine but I can't handle these shakes. Is this still a start up side effect or is this an actual long term side effect? Please give me your advice.
Can you also tell me if you believe generic is different than name brand?

Well when I have taken different anti-depressants, they all had uncomfortable side effects but I started taking them at night. Big difference. By the time I would wake my body had adjusted a bit so I could sleep through it. Is this an option for you? How often do you shake? shaking 24/7 it just might not be the one for you. Natural supplements can be pretty amazing for the brain believe it or not. L-Tyrosine is a great amino acid, and supports all kinds of healthy brain function, as well as niacin, which is good for depression. Niacin through IV in high volumes has cured alcholism! Vit. C the same story just for cancer. Sorry... I ramble on when it comes to holistic healing.
Thank you for the response. I take it at night. I am shaking almost all day. I hope this side effect goes away. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks on my upped dosage.
I've thought about going down to 12.5 but not sure how well that will help. 12.5 is a very low dose. I am considering trying the name brand. Idk if that will help but I feel desperate! I need this medicine but can't handle these shakes. I hope they go away ASAP.
I agree with Pledge, an adjustment in the medication may be in order. As for the generic, many people have an opinion when it comes to the effectiveness of generic meds. Me, I happy to pay less and get what I get, but that's just me. Hope this helps.
Hello anxioustocalm. It really varies from one individual to another. Meaning generics versus non generic. Some people do well on generics, some do not.I have found over the years that generic in my case do just as well as the name brand. As to the shaking, it might ease up. I say might for over the years I've been on medications where in regards to side effects such as the perspiration and my hands had a constant tremble and it was visible and was constantly aware of it, working on a daily basis with the public. You could ask for an adjustment to the Zoloft, it often helps to ease a side efect such as body tremors. Best of wishes to you, pledge
