I'm 75 years oldand have been diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer, clear nodes, clear margins. Had lumpectomy, 2 chemo treatments, and 30 radiation therapies. I have been on Arimidex for 9 months. Side effects are horrible, joint pains through my body, weakness, dizziness, headaches, pain around ribs. My oncologist suggest taking Arimidex every other day, not once a day. Will changing dosage give me same full coverage for breast cancer not returning? Either way, this med is killing me. My ONC is not giving me direct answer.
Anastrozole - Does Arimidex give full coverage dosage every other day?

Hi Dear Obmuloc,
I am now 65 - been on arimidex for precisely one year...
I am experiencing many of the side effects that you shared-
My side effects are unpredictable but whenever I have them it is so truly similar to yours... I am sincerely sorry for what you are going through-
No words can convey how powerful these effects are.
= truly painful, disabling and NO ONE gets you..
That is the hardest part..= not being believed or understood
I have taken anastrozole for a year also before that Letrozole for six months. I switched because began to have pain in left hip. I am 56. Began to take Fosamax after considering so for four months. Side effects do affect my hair, sleep ,bones, and mood. Worse than surgery or three weeks of radiation. I asked a couple weeks ago Dr if I could take every other day. No,but was small and stage 1 not in lymph nodes.
