Try L-arginine and L-citrulline to lower BP and boost your energy naturally.
It depends on what you are taking the clonidine for. If it is for anxiety , try a lower dosage, or perhaps xanax instead. Also, if you give it enough time, you may adjust to the dosage, and it will not bother you anymore. If it is for high blood pressure, there are a million different meds out on the market for that. This is really a doctor question/problem, although we are here to support you day and night. Hope that you find the answer that you are looking for.
.Make sure you get enough B vitamins as sometimes cracked lips can be a sign of a Vitamin B2 deficiency. Though in your case they might be a side effect of treatment. Have you spoken to your doctor about that or a pharmacist. Regarding B vitamins, I would opt for B-50 timed-release. You can buy this in Holland and Barrett. Make sure you are well hydrated by drinking enough liquid throughout the day. Fish oil [omega 3] and vitamin E capsules [200iu8] as a supplement might help also.
Natural Hypertension treatment
Eat more fruits and vegetables -- preferably fresh and organic. Fruits and vegetables have numerous compounds that can dilate blood vessels, including flavonoids. Fortunately for many chocoholics, cocoa, or dark chocolate, has important flavonoids. Eat more garlic since garlic may reduce hypertension. Berries, such as blueberries, are also known to reduce blood pressure.
Reduce salt intake. Individuals with high blood pressure uncontrolled by multiple prescription medications may be consuming too much salt. Some with so-called resistant hypertension have sharp reductions in their blood pressure when they dramatically curtail their salt intake.
Well Mir Sal, you have high blood pressure & anxiety, so clonidine is probably the best choice if it's doing the job as you say. Any other anxiety drug like a benzo is going to make you sleepy too. There are other choices of high blood pressure meds, but they won't help your anxiety... Mary
