Been taking adipex couple weeks now. Suffer from occasional RUQ pain and when I go to hospital I'm always cleared of any medical problems. The dr states my gallbladder is functions and not diseased but prob. Not functioning well.
Has anyone experienced right upper quadrant pain while during or after taking adipex?
But today hours after taking adipex the pain got pretty bad and has been present for a couple hrs now. I pray its not my liver...
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys!! =)

I know this is an old question however I wanted to answer... I took adipex for two months 6 years ago and ended up having my gallbladder removed last year for gallstones and it was "one of the worst" my dr had ever seen he couldn't believe I hadn't been sick longer or in the hospital!!! I honestly believe it was in relation from taking the adipex!!! I'd love to hear your stories now!
Hi Jen,
I also have been taking adipex and had to discontinue use due to pain in my upper right ribcage area. After an ultrasound my doctor has diagnosed me with fatty liver. I never had any symptoms prior to taking adipex. The research I have done myself online does indicate that fatty liver pain can be brought on by sudden weight loss / weight gain. I lost 16 pounds in just a couple of weeks using adipex. I weight 201 at the present time. I hope you find some relief.
Kind Regards,
Jennifer
I totally agree with Pledge, but also am giving the link to read about this drug below. Please read very carefully as it can have interreactions with many things such as other meds you take, condtions you may also have, & it does list stomach issues. Please read this & discuss this with your doctor before taking it again... Mary

Hello jennjr. I would stop taking the adipex and see how it goes. If you are pain free, then it would be the root/cause of the pain. I looked up as to side effects and its not mentioned as in what you are going through. Regards, pledge
