I am a male in my 60s … have had to take generic versions of this drug for 2 decades off and on. Around Oct of last year (2018) I got a regular refill, when I got home I noticed it was not the usual brand … but I took it, it didn't seem to work, gave me an odd feeling and it gave me > well lets just say I had to live in the bathroom on the toilet. I stopped taking it … the problem went away. Started it up again … same problem. I threw it away. Next month same thing happen … if I took Rhodes I got almost uncontrollable trips to the toilet … stop the drug they went away …. had to inform my pharmacy that I could not take this version.
I found out many pharmacies started stocking this brand because of low price cost.
As I said, because of a injury and muscle condition I have take this off and on for 25 years > and never had this issue until I was given 10mg/325mg manufactured by Rhodes
Look up the ANDA #. That brand may have Lactose in it. KVK-Tek does that to many because of the Lactose.
KVK Tech and Mallinckrodt are great! I've never been sick on pain meds until RHODES! IT IS PURE GARBAGE and dozens agree. We all can't be wrong! You call and they say youre screwed, like the no compassion pharmacy. No refunds/returns, you must fight for another script, then get an insurance override to replace this life threatening poison, putting many in the ER. I literally feel like Im dying; first vomiting and migraines. Now severe abdominal, chest and kidney pain to where I can barely walk. Suffering 2 weeks now. I cant see my MD to replace this garbage; and worse it doesn't relieve any pain whatsoever, even in higher doses. Pharms: PLEASE, WE'RE SUFFERING, our insurance and we pay good $$$! Spend a little more for a quality brand! Our lives depend on it! REMOVE THIS POISON NOW! Im making a FDA complaint!
Your experience sounds almost identical to mine. I am so sorry. Please look at my post that has the link to the FDA to file a complaint.
When my pharmacy changed manufacturer to Rhodes last October 2018.
I went in to pick up my Percocet 10/325 mg tab rhod
I notice right away the taste then the feeling of getting sick from it.
I contacted my pharmacy with my concerns and that is when they told me they changed to a new manufacturer Rhodes. They proceeded to tell me drink milk or eat something before taking it.
I have been taking this medicine for over two year and have always eaten and drank milk before I take any medication, I just never got sick from this medicine until they changed manufacturers. Not only that it’s not taking the pain away like it did before the change. I don’t want to take more than what my doctor is prescribing, I am in so much pain asking my doctor if there was anything stronger to take the pain away.
Still to this day with the same manufacturer I get bad taste and get sick from time to time.
Unfortunately, in most cases, generic pain medication has some negative and unwanted side effects not experienced by brand name medication. In this day and age, most pharmacies have had to prescribe the cheapest generic available in order to increase their bottom line. The cheaper the generic, the more negative side effects. From what I have read, Rhodes manufactures inexpensive generic pain medication which makes it attractive to some pharmacies. I might suggest that you do a little pharmacy shopping until you find a generic equivalent that works for you. Don't believe anyone who tells you that all generics are the same, and work the same as the primary brand name drug. They are not. Best of luck to you.
It is now 2020, so you may not even see this answer but other people have complained about Rhodes as well over the last 4 years. It just seems that these new generics are much less effective and/or causing a lot of us stomach problems. Myself included. Check medicine reviews on this site. It helped me a bit.
Has anybody used Rhodes Pharmaceuticals Oxycodone?
I unfortunately broke my ankle last night walking my dog. The 5mg x 2 Oxycodones they gave me in the hospital ED worked fine last night. I picked up 15 generic 5mg Percocets made by Rhodes Pharmaceuticals at my local CVS today. They seem like garbage. Has anybody else tried these generics? I am having surgery next Wednesday. Is it worth requesting and paying for brand name Percocets? I appreciate any feedback
Hospitals don't use generics and for good reason.
Thank you everyone for the information. I thought there was something going on.
At least I know now I am not the only person out there that is having problems with this manufacturer. Rhodes
I have been in pain management since 2004 every time I was given Rhodes for my script I got migraines and it didn’t help for my pain at all
Steele; I have looked this up there should not be any problems, There really is no difference all this has is the 2 ingredients in it and this is an Sch II which has the tightest restrictions of any medication Check with your doctor if you're having problems with this you more than likely would with any brand. The Oxycodone comes from the same place and generic Tylenol is all the same.
You're a shill Rhodes rep. I FAINTED AND SPLIT MY HEAD OPEN! Ceased this poison, I threw up two weeks, my stomach boiling, kidney and chest pains. Couldn't get script replaced for 10 days! By then, override expired, paid $100 for partial fill of 80 would've been $3. Worse, pharm refused fill with Mallinckrodt after waiting 2 hours until next day where i sat crying in agony! I even rushed to ER that night; zero help, finally called medics, again 0 help. I went into a seizure, as your blood pressure drops in severe pain which causes fainting. I recall them saying "whoa", as I could barely walk, sat me in a chair then left! I came to with blood all over kitchen, counter floor and a gash in my head! I can't recall event sequence, trying to recreate is scary, as well. I obviously wasn't inured when they were here. Claim I refused transport, after calling in desperation. W/o big hassle, I cant get the report.
