Yes . M523 is the exact thing as a Percocet . It's just a generic but has same ingredients and affect as the brand name. I am prescribed Percocet and the pharmacist gives me this brand sometimes.
Percocet is technically called a combination drug, that is, it is a mixture of two drugs which are pain meds... acetaminophen and oxycodone. A drug such as Roxicodone is just oxycodone. The original brand name is Percocet made by Purdue Pharmaceuticals. M523 is a combination of oxycodone and APAP (APAP is shorthand for acetaminophen and is the generic equivalent of Percocet. I think M523 is made by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals generics. In general, combination drugs are typically more expensive than individual drugs. Also, brand name drugs are more expensive than the same generic drug.
Endo pharmaceuticals makes name brand Percocet, I've been taking it for 12 yrs and their name is on my bottle. I also take Oxycontin, which is name brand extended release Oxycodone, which has Pudue listed as the manufacturer on my bottle as well.
Hey MIKELLE,
M523 pills are acetominophen with oxycodone which is the same thing as percocet 10mg/325mg where the 10 is the amount of oxycodone and the 325 is the amount of acetominophen.
Best wishes,
Laurie
