I am a 15-20/day beer drinker and my doctor prescribed Librium. I found that one, 25 mg pill, every 4-6 hours on this first day is not cutting it. Feel like I need more than taper off, for a week.
How much 25 mg Librium can you take in a 24-hr. period?

Added 23 Jan 2015:And what about Sleep Apnea. I can only wear my mask some nights, as I end up ripping it off. Am I okay with and without it, having Sleep Apnea and taking Librium? I read an interaction, if injected, but am I confused about the oral form.

Your Dr is the best source of this answer because none else know what else is going on with your unique situation, other meds, other substances, age, general health, etc. etc.

If you feel you need more librium you should discuss it with your dr. It can't be taken more then every 4 hrs. If you have sleep apnea its not too good to take more of the librium. A side effect is respiratory depression.

Does that mean I need some emergency respitory kit here, used by my caretaker?

It's almost midnight, and my doctor won't answer this late, nor do I know where or doubt I can get a respitory machine?

This is a question you need to ask your doctor. As for the meletonin and librium, it is alright to take both together.

Thanks. Just worried about my sleep apnea, combined with the Librium, because I can't use a CPAP. I rip the mask off, after going to sleep, in 15 min. I was treated about 6 years ago, the same way, and they knew I had sleep apnea, and saw my machine, but knew I couldn't wear it, and they never said anything? This was in treatment with doctors also.
