Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "Does absolutely nothing. I take the 20 mg dose along with 4 Aleve a day and 4-6 Tylenol. The Hysingla ER did nothing to help. All it does is make me very sleepy 4-5 hours after I take it through the rest of the day. I mean, so sleepy I wouldn't want to try to drive a car."

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "First of all, I’ve been on many different pain medications for several years, and I’ll have to say this is the worst drug ever made! Purdue should be legally bound for charging over $500 for 30 pills, no matter the strength, and for my situation, I’m taking the 40 mg pill that Purdue claims works a whopping 24 hours! First of all, what I have noticed is that it takes 8 hours upon dosing just to start anything, so let’s subtract 24-8, and that leaves 16 hrs. Now, if I told you that this miracle and very expensive drug lasted for 16 hrs, well, I would be telling you it is incorrect, so in all practicality, it should be scheduled for every 12 hours instead, twice daily. Don’t waste your time or money on this pathetic pill!"

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "My doctor changed me from being on Norco 10/325 to Hysingla ER, and they keep lowering my dose. In my opinion, the Hysingla doesn't work as well, and the pain keeps getting worse. Why are doctors cutting medicine doses down on people who are in real pain, just because so many others sell their meds and lie about pain."

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "Very positive experience for me. Sick of taking hydrocodone all day and night for chronic pain. Still taking hydrocodone for breakthrough pain once most days, twice others, but that is a big decrease for me. I am not nearly as sluggish and feel generally better."

Zohydro ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "It takes about 2 hours to start working, so it's definitely a long-acting medication. It says it lasts for 12 hours, but it only lasts 7 for me, every time, without fail. I cannot just take the Zohydro ER, but I need to take my rescue medication, or else be miserable for 2 hours before it works. It gives you constipation sometimes, even if you drink a ton of water. It seems to be weak pain relief. I wish it could work better and last longer. My doctor is switching me to a different ER pain medication now."

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "I started taking Hysingla 40 mg about 10 days ago. It does take the pain away about 80% of the time. I wake up through the night with only about 3 hours of sleep. I also have terrible headaches now. I don't know if any of this is related to my medication, as I checked the side effects, but this has only started since then. You would think taking pain medication I wouldn't have headaches. Talking to my pain management doctor next week."

Zohydro ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "I've been on this medication for about 4 months now, and I can honestly say it has helped in giving me my life back. I have stage IV endometriosis, a bulging disc that's pressing on nerves in my L4-L5, sciatica, and cervical pain. Before this medication, I was on Nucynta ER, which was crap. I now go to a great pain doctor who promised me that I will get my life back, and they have kept their promise. I take Zohydro 15 mg 2x per day, and Narco 750 for breakthrough, and Flexeril at night. I am now able to sleep at night and make it through the days mostly. I pay a $15 copay because of a prescription card and insurance. My insurance denied it at first, but my doctor advocated for me to them, and they now cover it. I hope this helps someone."

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "I started taking 30 mg Hysingla ER about 6 months ago for severe joint pain along with 3 Vicodin a day for breakthrough medication. I'm now up to 60 mg Hysingla ER, but the 3 per day of Vicodin is just not cutting it. I'm in severe joint pain with RA and osteoporosis. May be possible Vicodin not strong enough, I think Tylenol not strong enough for me. I keep running out of the breakthrough medication by 3-4 days every month. Any suggestions?"

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "Biggest waste of money. Don't believe all the lies put out by drug co. Very unpredictable in its delivery. Pain comes in spurts for me, so something that won't do me any good for 5 hours is practically worthless to me. If I have to suffer that long for relief, then I might as well not take anything. I understand that it's not designed for breakthrough pain, but still need more predictability in a pill's delivery to judge how to take it. I have very bad stomach issues as well."

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "This drug didn't work as well as short-acting hydrocodone in lower doses. I had to take up to 20 mg of Tramadol per day for breakthrough pain on top of the 30 mg of Hysingla. It put me to sleep, made me unable to think clearly or efficiently, and didn't allow me to organize my day or complete my tasks as well as I previously had. I had to take it around 6 PM to avoid breathing issues when I lay down, and as a result, by the time I got up in the morning, I no longer received any pain relief from it - there is no way it works for 24 hours. I'm now in the process of returning to Norco, and while still taking hydrocodone, I am experiencing withdrawal symptoms from getting off the Hysingla. It is far more dangerous and addictive than it is promoted."

Zohydro ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "My pain doctor put me on Zohydro after I tried Hysingla (worked great for a couple of weeks, then only lasted about 8-12 hours - which can't work for a once every 24-hour medicine) and after I had been on Percocet and hydrocodone at varying dosages and frequencies. I've had chronic back pain for 5+ years. I'm so glad I got to try this medicine, it has changed my life. It's very expensive ($300+ per prescription before meeting my deductible), but it's totally worth it in my mind. It doesn't give you the annoying 'high' that you get from short-acting pain medication, no fuzzy thoughts, no exhaustion. Medicine usually lasts the prescribed 12 hours and takes about 50-80% pain level away."

Zohydro ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "Suffering from a back injury since 2001. Over a couple of years, nerve damage on the left side started. Surgery was done, L4 and L3 were removed and replaced with an artificial substance. Cage over spine with 4 screws. Limited back movement. I'm in constant pain always. Last meds were OxyContin and Percocet for breakthrough. Put on Zohydro ER, 30 mg. It's not working. It's only been about 3 weeks. Asking the doctor to put me back on previous meds. It was a job-related injury."

Zohydro ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "I am a chronic pain sufferer and am allergic to most pain medications. Zohydro 40 mg ER works wonders for me. I take it twice per day, with one 10 mg hydrocodone for breakthrough pain relief. My situation is so serious that at times, I've wanted to die. The pain is just that bad, but now I'm getting relief, it sort of levels it off, and my ability to function without the constant thought of hurting is greater. It's an absolute pain reliever."

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "My doctor put me on Hysingla ER 20 mg a few weeks ago. Hysingla is causing major problems for me at night. I am waking up 3-4 times every night due to pain and sleepwalking. I believe I need an increase in the dosage or to be put back on my original treatment of Percocet 7.5 mg QID (4 times a day). I am scared that I might walk out of the house and into the road because of this medication. In the few weeks of being on this medication, I have left the house twice within three weeks. The last time this happened was nearly 4 years ago."

Zohydro ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "I suffer from chronic TMJ. I can't eat apples, steak, most foods that require you to open your mouth, or my jaw will emit a loud bone-breaking-sounding CRACK, followed by waves of intense pain WAY beyond the acceptable threshold. I'm only 33. An MRI, CT scan, several X-rays, and worthless visits to 'specialists' did nothing but empty my bank account and receive the news that I have 'two displaced discs in my face, and there's nothing we can do.' I was about to give up, then said heck with it and sought out a pain specialist. She witnessed the horrific noise, saw the X-rays and surgeon notes, and immediately put me on Zohydro 20 mg (twice a day), and thinking my woes were addressed, then they reformulated it and it's like taking Aleve."

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "All of this is the fault of physicians and pharmaceutical companies. At this point, they're getting so much pressure to get people off of opioids that they either don't care or have no choice but to prescribe drugs that don't work. If they don't solve this problem, people are going to start buying heroin or something else just to get pain relief."

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "I have 3 auto immune conditions and a very messed up back was on Percocet 10/325 4x day which was helping but neuro put me on Hysingla 20mg and stopped all my other meds including headache shot said this was a miracle drug for all my needs , all this drug done for me is cause more pain and withdrawals if it works for you that's great but some folks have a higher tolerance for meds so if your one of these people who does have a higher tolerance to meds it's not for you save your money because the cost is high and you figure for the price you pay you'd get some kind of relief."

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "Everyone complaining about headaches and worse pain need to toughen up and wait two weeks before giving up on Hysingla. The headaches and increased pain I think are from Norco "withdrawal". Your brain just needs a week to adapt to the new dosing. Those complaining about it taking a long time to start working or not being consistent are of course correct. No XR meds are perfect but they prevent turmoil caused by peaks and valleys of IR meds...and that is worth it long-term. Give Hysingla a chance. The worst thing about my experience is that during titration the doctors are following guidelines to "round down" from their Norco dose. That's backwards, the does should be higher with any XR."

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "Hysingla really keeps the pain level from my fibromyalgia in check. I no longer feel I am on a pain scale roller coaster. I stay around a 3-4 most days. Others sometimes a 6, but no longer am I at an 8-20 on the pain scale. I also love that I don't feel dopey or tired from the Hysingla version like with Norco."

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "This medication isn't that effective compared to taking Norco since Norco releases most of its metabolites within an hour, immediately causing pain relief. Switching over to Hysingla has not only cost me way more money per month but also has caused me to have severe withdrawals and pain due to its very slow time release of the medication. I take 20 mg of Norco at a time tid, and I'm on the Hysingla 30 mg. So, with that being said, my body is used to 20 mg of morphine every 6 hours. If I'm on the Hysingla 30, it means I'm only getting approximately 1.25 mg an hour. That causes the concentration of my morphine levels to drop rapidly. Bottom line, this medication does not work unless you have minor pain that can wait a while till this medication."

Zohydro ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "I had a bad car wreck in 2011, which caused chronic back pain. I have had five surgeries, which ended up putting in a spinal cord stimulator. That helps with nerve pain, but not back pain so much. I eventually was put on Zohydro 40 mg about one year ago. He first tried 30 mg, but upped it after a month or so to be covered better. It has been a wonderful medicine to help me have a productive life. I still use (3) Norco 5 mg/325 mg for breakthrough pain a day. Looking at possibly moving to Zohydro 50 mg next month as pain has slowly increased more lately. But all in all, it has been a great drug and has helped me live a productive life with chronic pain. The SCS also has helped tremendously. It is very expensive before meeting my deductible ($500)."

Zohydro ER (hydrocodone) for Pain "My doctor prescribed 10 mg once or twice a day to address some nasty sciatic pain. Maybe the dosage is low, but it really had no discernible effect on the pain after several days' usage. I don't want another expensive shot to deal with it either. I have had two, and they only provided about one week of relief while costing me plenty, even with insurance."
