I used to take celebrex, but cuz of insurance I can't take it. I was prescribed Meloxicam. Is it as good as celebrex to decrease inflamation due to back or joint problems?

They work in a similar way.
Meloxicam is in a group of drugs called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body. Meloxicam is used to treat pain or inflammation caused by arthritis.
Celebrex is also a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) but it is more specific in it's target and therefore may cause less gastrointestinal side effects compared to the normal NSAIDs like diclofenac, meloxicam, etc.
