Usual Adult Dose for Meningococcal Meningitis Prophylaxis
Approximately 0.5 mL IM administered as 2 doses 6 months apart
Comment:
- This vaccine is approved for adults up to 25 years of age.
Use: For active immunization for the prevention of invasive disease caused by Neisseria meningitides serogroups A, B, C, W, and Y

Precautions
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
- History of severe allergic reaction (e.g., anaphylaxis) to any component of this vaccine
Safety and efficacy have not been established in patients younger than 10 years.

Administration advice:
- For IM use only
- Administer immediately after reconstitution.
- Inform the patient of the potential benefits and risks of vaccination prior to administration.
- Advise vaccine recipient to report any adverse events to their healthcare provider.
Storage requirements:
- Store horizontally (to minimize resuspension time) in the refrigerator between 2C and 8C (36F and 46F) in the original carton.
- Do not freeze. Discard if the vaccine is frozen.
- If not used following reconstitution, store between 2C and 30C (36F and 86F) and use within 4 hours; discard if not used after 4 hours.
