Usual Adult Dose for Cough
Maintenance dose: 2 lozenges orally every 4 hours as needed
Maximum dose: 12 lozenges in any 24-hour period or as directed by a doctor
Comments:
- Take one lozenge immediately after the other for a single dose.
- Allow each lozenge to dissolve slowly in the mouth.
Use: Temporary relief of cough due to minor throat and bronchial irritation caused by the common cold; occasional minor irritation, pain, sore mouth, and sore throat

Patient advice:
- Take only as directed.
- Do not use:
- If blister is broken or damaged.
- If you take a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (certain drugs for depression, psychiatric, or emotional conditions, or Parkinson's disease), or for 2 weeks after stopping the MAOI drug. Ask a doctor or pharmacist before taking this product if you do not know if your prescription drug contains an MAOI.
- Consult your doctor if:
- Sore throat is severe, lasts for more than 2 days, occurs with or is followed by fever, headache, rash, swelling, nausea, or vomiting
- You have persistent or chronic cough when it occurs with smoking, asthma, or emphysema
- You cough with too much phlegm (mucus)
- Cough that lasts for more than 7 days, comes back, or occurs with fever, rash, or persistent headache as these could be signs of a serious condition
- Sore mouth symptoms do not improve in 7 days
- Irritation, pain, or redness persists or worsens
- Pregnant or breastfeeding
