Fomivirsen ophthalmic Disease Interactions

Increased intraocular pressure has been frequently reported with fomivirsen treatment. Although the effect is usually transient and pressure often returns to normal without intervention, the temporary use of topical medications has been necessary in some patients with sustained elevation of intraocular pressure. Patients with glaucoma or preexisting intraocular hypertension may require closer ophthalmologic monitoring during fomivirsen therapy, and adjustments made accordingly in their medication regimen.
