For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Mounjaro since October 2023. My A1C was at a 9 at my last appointment. Sept 18, my A1C was at a 5. As an added benefit, I have lost 60 lb. and have been able to review my journey with food, make smarter choices because I don't have the crazy urges to just EAT anything. I did have issues with my stomach the first 5 months on the medication, but I was able to adjust my eating to ease the discomfort. I avoided spicier foods, and very sweet food seemed to cause discomfort, and taking/drinking Activia probiotic dailies really helped. I also noticed I really had to pay attention to my water intake because I didn't feel thirsty and I would forget to drink water, so I set my water out at my desk to make sure I didn't get dehydrated. I did at the beginning, but as I am figuring that out, it's less of a problem. And I am able to move more as the weight comes off. I do experience more headaches now, but I believe that is because I am not always drinking the water I should be drinking."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Just injected my 5th dose of 2.5 mg Mounjaro. T2 for about a decade, but trying to avoid insulin. A1C had been creeping up to the 7s, decided on Mounjaro mostly because the injector pen is not scary. Adding 2.5 mg of Mounjaro made my glucose levels perfect, so now we will titrate up to 5 mg of Mounjaro and down on other meds. Glucose control has been great, smoothing out my resistant morning highs like nothing else. Side effects: crummy. Headaches kick in on days 2-3, and I can't figure out the formula for the constipation, but it is no joke. Hydration and fiber are necessary. The good news is in the 5th week, things are getting better. Headaches are less severe and don't last as long, and bathroom issues are lessening, though not gone. I am part of the unfortunate group that has not lost a single ounce in 5 weeks. My interest in food tends to evaporate as I eat, and I have some almost pica-like cravings for sushi and the darkest chocolate I can find. Time will tell if a higher dose does more for me."

For Type 2 Diabetes "First week, I had massive diarrhea and a splitting headache. Week 2 was better. Just a headache. Week 3, still have a headache. Down 8 pounds in 3 weeks. Blood sugar is fine. I find I don’t eat much. I have to force myself to drink too."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Mounjaro since Sep 2022. I started off with the 2.5 mg for about a month with no issues. My provider then moved me to 5 mg in October. Once again, no issues, and I started losing weight. 15 lbs in about 6 weeks. I was then moved up to 7.5 mg in November and have been miserable ever since. I have no appetite, severe constipation, major headaches, and vomiting, and I am now having issues with low blood pressure (causing lightheadedness, dizziness, and vision issues), which I believe is being caused by my never wanting to eat or drink anything. I have informed my provider of this, and she is now wanting to send me to a cardiologist to make sure my heart is working properly. She has also decided to lower my dosage back to 5 mg. I am hoping this change helps because so far, my type 2 diabetes is under control, and my sugars have been fantastic!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I am nearing the end of my 3rd week with Mounjaro 2.5 mg. The side effects in the first week were awful: heartburn, sulfur burps, nausea, and slight headache. These side effects lessened by the 5th day. The second week was a little better. The side effects were somewhat better and only lasted for 4-5 days. Fatigue crept in the second week. Now I am on Day 5 of my third week. The main side effects now are acid reflux, slight nausea, and extreme weakness and tiredness. My appetite is really suppressed on Mounjaro. I don’t get hungry at all. So far I have lost 13 lbs in 19 days. The weight loss is great, but the fatigue and weakness are really bad. I am a 63 y/o male, type 2 diabetic for 25 years, currently 252 lbs. This medicine is not for everyone, and I don’t think I will be taking another Mounjaro injection."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Lost weight in the first few weeks. Some issues with belching and diarrhea for the first several weeks, which declined over time. But then, after approximately 6 weeks, no weight loss was noted. Still eating less, so hoping that the decreased intake of calories would reduce weight. Then had COVID, so had to miss a week, stayed on original dosage, no weight loss. Then, when dosage increased after the 3rd month, symptoms returned: upset stomach and diarrhea. During the same period, slightly elevated temperature, fatigue, headaches. Lost from 240 to 218 in 4 months, so cost was $100 per pound."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been taking Mounjaro since December 2022, beginning with the lowest dose of 2.5 mg, and increasing to 5 mg, briefly going to 7.5 mg, and currently back at 5 mg. Anyway, I had already made huge changes to my diet and reduced my insulin, but couldn’t quite get my glucose levels where I wanted them. For the most part, it’s been great. I’m now off all other diabetic medication, including insulin, and am able to keep my blood sugars within range. I have some issues with constipation and definitely need to use a little help to keep things moving. Occasionally, I have a headache for several hours after injecting. I have gotten a little bit of a sour stomach after some meals, but not bad. I have lost a little weight, not a lot, but I’m not in a hurry to lose. I think I’d probably lose more at a higher dose. My last HbA1c was 5.3, and I would like to get it lower. I had more stomach trouble at the higher dose. I'm glad that I’m on it. An injection once a week is better than daily."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I am very happy with the weight loss (35 lbs). I generally tolerate it well. Upon each increase, side effects returned but were manageable. The benefits certainly outweighed the few side effects and brought my A1C down to 5.2. Side effects: rapid heartbeat, nausea, headache, acid reflux, belching, and stomach upset."

For Type 2 Diabetes "After month two, I’ve gotten a rash at the injection site. I immediately get a headache, much like a migraine, an hour or two after the injection. On day 2, I’m very tired and battle headaches throughout the day. On days 3, 4, and 5, I am nauseated and don’t have much of an appetite. On days 6 and 7, I’m extremely hungry, and then it starts like clockwork again. I don’t notice any weight loss, if so, it’s inches off my waist, but nothing too noticeable. I was on Ozempic 2 mg for 2 years and was switched to 7.5 mg of Mounjaro after the Ozempic shortage began in June 2022. Not sure if I should switch back at this point."
