For Osteoarthritis "Getting the injections in my knees was the worst decision I have ever made. The shots themselves are the most painful thing I’ve ever experienced, and I could barely even walk to the car after my appointment. I could put no weight on my left leg for four days. Two weeks after the injections, my knees have not improved, and my calves are in excruciating pain most of the time, which was not a symptom before the injections. This never should have been approved as a viable option for osteoarthritis. I don’t know how it got past the testing phase! Durolane, in my opinion, should be taken out of use, and we should sue the manufacturer for misrepresentation and pain and suffering."

For Osteoarthritis "Over the last few years, I’ve had several injections of Durolane in my left knee. I’ve had no side effects and was able to stay pain-free for about 6 months each time. I had immediate relief. I just had that knee replaced because I had almost zero mobility. Yesterday, I had an injection in my right knee. No side effects, and I’m pain-free today. This is the first time in years that my knees are pain-free. What a relief!"

For Osteoarthritis "I have had two Durolane injections in my right knee, which I injured when I was just a kid. I have had multiple knee surgeries, but now that I am 61, my knee is very degraded and has lots of arthritis. My doctor’s philosophy is to put off knee replacement surgery and keep getting injections until they don’t work anymore. A year ago, I had a Durolane injection and it worked very well, giving me relief for months. Last week, I had another injection, but over the last 7 days, the pain in my knee has increased tremendously. I have some swelling and sharp pains with certain movements. The difference is that my injection last week was given by an intern. My doctor was watching, but I feel that the injection didn’t go to the correct spot. If I decide to get any future injections, I will insist that a full-fledged experienced physician does the job. So in my experience, I have seen the benefit of the drug, but unfortunately am now experiencing the downside of a poorly done injection."

For Osteoarthritis "This is the worst injection on the market. I had the injection in both knees, the right one was okay for a while, but the left one got worse immediately after getting it. I got sick, the pain was extremely unbearable. What upset me more is my doctor never told me that the injection might not work or it might worsen my condition. He said this would make the quality of my life much better. What a lie. When I did see my doctor again, he then said it doesn't work for everyone and didn't want to hear how worse my knees are now. His solution was to have knee replacement. I only had a small problem and was doing fine before I got with this doctor a little over 2 years, now I am crippled and in severe pain daily. Both knees are damaged. I will do research on everything before putting or injecting anything in my body. There are physicians out here only to make a profit and not looking out for the patients' best interest, do your research.... Please!"

For Osteoarthritis "Six months ago, I received my first Durolane injection into my left knee. I had been struggling for almost one year with pain and swelling, and my mobility was very restricted, a challenge with a farm lifestyle plus a full-time job that requires I be able to walk. About 10 days post-injection, I experienced greatly improved mobility. The swelling in the knee gradually diminished, as did the pain. I have had six months of greatly improved mobility. It got better and better over the six months. Now, getting a second injection to maintain the benefits. It definitely was a great solution for me until I get the knee replaced."

For Osteoarthritis "I had my injection of Durolane on Aug 23, 2021. My orthopedic doctor put the entire volume in my left knee. I have been in constant pain. I cannot walk, stand, or lie down without pain. I cannot bend my left knee. I have used ice, heat, and naproxen with no relief. My quality of life is suffering. The doctor is clueless about what to do to help me. The price of the injection is ridiculous for the amount of pain I am enduring."

For Osteoarthritis "I received this Durolane shot in both knees. The shot itself was excruciating! The pain afterward is unbearable. I have tried pain pills, heating pad, and ice and no relief. I don’t know how to even describe the pain, maybe to say it feels like someone took a sledgehammer to both knees! I have had the Synvisc 1 shots 4 times (?insurance would only pay for Durolane this time) and NEVER experienced anything close to this! DO NOT GET DURALANE SHOTS!"

For Osteoarthritis "I have chronic osteoarthritis. I have had four knee surgeries, and I am 48. In the past, I had Synvisc One injections. This time, my surgeon administered Durolane. He had to go in twice because he didn't let the freezing sit, and the pain was agonizing. As I'm eight weeks post-op, I had to use crutches to leave, and I'm now on day two. I can bend my knee, but when I go to raise my leg or do any extension, the underneath part of my kneecap feels so tight and bruised I can't lift it or flex it. I'll stay off it one more day. But I'm not sure how to rate this. Knees pretty swollen and in pain. I had the same swelling from Synvisc One, but not the under kneecap pain. My surgeon did it in his office, no ultrasound like I had previously. Anyway, I'll keep you posted. Thanks for reading."

For Osteoarthritis "If only I had seen the reviews for Durolane, I would never have agreed to its injection into my right knee. Despite my hopes for relief, I am still waiting for it to take effect, even though it has been two months since the procedure was done on January 22, 2023. The pain is excruciating at night and debilitating during the day. I have found some temporary relief by massaging the area with Arnica cream, but I am still hopeful that the medication will eventually kick in and relieve the pain. Additionally, I have used KT Tape, which has allowed me to walk a bit more comfortably."

For Osteoarthritis "I received my Durolane injection almost two weeks ago. So far, my chondromalacia is worse, and the pain is especially bad at night. Since my doctor refuses to consider any other treatment because my joint is not bad enough, I am going for a second opinion. I just want my life back, and it doesn't look like Durolane is the solution."

For Osteoarthritis "I was given injections in both knees on May 7th. My doc did not give me the injections, his PA did. My first mistake. He hit a blood vessel, and my knee was so disfigured it didn’t even look like a knee. The medication settled in a huge lump for days, and I couldn’t walk on it for 4 days. Fast forward to May 15, and both knees started to hurt again. 4 days ago, I made an 8-hour trip. When I got to my destination, they hurt. I had to climb stairs, so by Sunday, they both had swelled up, including my ankles, and I found a lump below my right knee. Today, I had to go to the ER because the pain is so unbearable I can’t breathe, and mind you, I take strong meds for my back and neck. They didn’t touch the pain! I thought I might have a blood clot due to my calf now having a Charlie horse that won’t go away, my knee to ankle is swollen up so bad my foot doesn’t even look normal. Also, it feels like I have a 12-inch knife sticking out of my knee. Just say NO!"

For Osteoarthritis "BIG RIP OFF. On Jan 4, I went to the “Joint Clinic” under referral of my doctor for a cortisone shot to my knee. I did, and I was suggested by the Joint Clinic doctor to get a Durolane shot also. It was advertised as a miracle temporary remedy, with the cost of $600.00. I said I’d have to think about it, talked with my wife, and we decided to go ahead. I made an appointment for Jan 10. For the whole week after my cortisone shot, my knee felt much better. On Jan 10, I got the DUROLANE shot. I was told that I might get some discomfort for 3-4 days. Well, let me tell you, my knee is in pain and I can’t walk without pain. I was better after I got the cortisone, and I thought I was going to get even better with this “miracle drug.” Now I’m so sorry that I went back for this injection. I WARNED YOU ALL. I know that if you’re in pain, you’re willing to try it, but I’ll guarantee you, you won’t get any relief with Durolane, you’ll actually be in more pain."

For Osteoarthritis "It's been 6 months since I received the Durolane injections in both knees. I'm still having a problem walking, knees are stiff, and my balance is off! Going up and down stairs is very difficult. If I were to walk across a field where the ground isn't level, I might fall. I still get that tingling feeling in my legs when I start moving. Once this wears off, I'm going back to Synvisc. Durolane shouldn't be used on a dog! This stuff is garbage!"

For Osteoarthritis "I had my knees injected with Durolane on Tuesday, June 4th, 2019. I regret that I ever took this injection to both of my knees. I'm having pain in both knees, much worse than before. The first evening, I felt as if I was not able to walk. My legs and hips are aching. I'm so sorry I did this. Cortisone has helped me in the past and has never caused this kind of pain. The first night, I sat up all night with ice packs and cried due to no relief. I took my prescribed pain medication, and still no relief. It is now 4 days later, and I am still experiencing unusual pain. I have taken Synvisc One in the past and never, ever had such a bad experience. I pray this pain will subside in time. NEVER AGAIN WILL I TAKE DUROLANE."

For Osteoarthritis "I absolutely hate this drug. Synvisc worked wonderfully for me, but they started recommending Durolane because it is a single dose. Had both knees done, and my left one in particular is terrible. It is swelling, still bruised, and hurts from the hip to the ankle. Why is this drug even on the market? I'm in more pain than I was before. 500 mg naproxen twice a day won't even touch it. If I could use a negative number to review, I would. This pain is directly affecting my job and quality of life."

For Osteoarthritis "I had a Durolane injection after 2 of another brand that went well. United Healthcare insisted on this one this time. 20 minutes after the injection, I had extreme nausea and a headache to the point of not seeing well. The pain is worse now than before any shots 2 years ago. I have no idea how to make the pain stop now."

For Osteoarthritis "Durolane injection into left hip 6 days ago, the second time I've had the injection. More pain than usual for first 3 days post-injection, settling down now, and hip is feeling strong with a 7 km walk yesterday. I was queued up for a hip replacement, but now I see Durolane as a viable alternative, especially in COVID-19 times. Wish the insurance would cover it."

For Osteoarthritis "I had a Durolane injection in both knees on 1/10/24. I have severe arthritis in my left knee and was in excruciating pain. Well, about a week after the injection the pain subsided considerably. Today is 1/22/24. Although my knee is weak and wobbly, I barely have pain. Maybe a little bit now and then. I'm so thankful this drug worked for me. I'm 60 years old."

For Osteoarthritis "On 10/15/19, I received my first injection of Durolane. I am 66 yrs. old with osteoarthritis, bone on bone in my knee. The initial injection hurts more than a cortisone injection, but only for a minute. The gel is thicker, so it goes in slower. Initially, I could not bend my knee or walk comfortably. I definitely could not get the injection and drive. My knee was swollen and uncomfortable for a bit, but I sat on my sofa with my knee up for the day. I did have a headache later in the day, but I took Advil and it subsided. I could not use the leg to get up from a sitting position, which was cumbersome. I went to bed that evening, woke up the next morning, and 90% of the pain was gone. I would suggest this injection as of day 2. I'm hoping it lasts a few months. If it does, I would definitely do it again."

For Osteoarthritis "I had a Durolane injection in both knees 6 weeks ago. I am 56 years old and have severe osteoarthritis in both knees. The doctor told me when I left to go about my life. I ended up on the couch for a week after. 6 weeks later, I feel like I have weights on the bottom of my legs, and my knee joints ache terribly, and my muscles hurt constantly. I am so sorry I ever got the injections!!!!"

For Osteoarthritis "After being advised that I needed a full knee replacement, my arthritis specialist offered an alternative, Durolane. Three years and five injections later, I'm very happy with the results, my mobility is excellent. At $450 (multi-user discount), I'll continue as long as possible and only have surgery if and when Durolane no longer works. Highly recommend trying this prior to surgery."

For Osteoarthritis "I had Durolane injections in both knees ten days ago. My side effects included nausea, headache, back pain, tingling. Now my knees ache and burn so badly every movement is excruciating. I can barely get around the house. At seventy-two years old, this is the WORST decision I’ve ever made. PLEASE, if you are thinking about getting Durolane injections, don’t. Once it’s done, there’s no going back."

For Osteoarthritis "I had 3 x 5-shot Synvisc treatments. They started to work quickly, but from 4-6 months, it wore out. I noticed the injected fluid escaped from the knee down to my ankle in a few days. I had my Durolane on Feb 24, now it's in the 8th week, and the fluid started to escape to my ankle. The first 3 weeks, I had pain from the injection, too much fluid in the knee. But after the 6th week, my knee started to feel much more effects. I hope it lasts more than 6 months. If every Durolane shot lasts 6 months, then forget about knee replacement, which cuts out PCL and ACL for good. No baseball, soccer, tennis, jogging, basketball, hockey, volleyball, sports dancing, etc., forever after knee replacement. I gave 6 stars now, wait and see how much better this will be."

For Osteoarthritis "Like others have stated, insurance switched this year and would not approve Synvisc, which worked beautifully for me the last few years. I get an injection about every 10 months. The day of the injection felt fine, just some swelling. Day 2, I can barely walk and my knee is swollen, and it's painful. My face, neck, and chest are bright red. None of this happened with Synvisc."
