"Had the Prevnar 13 yesterday. Couldn't sleep last night, and my arm was painful. I can't lift my arm now, and it's very sore. I put ice packs on it and took aspirin, but so far, it hasn't helped! Hope this is all worth it."

"I suffered side effects that commenced four days after being vaccinated. They included intense itching at the injection site, redness, and swelling. My arm showed movement limitations the day following the injection, accompanied by moderate pain. On day five, the discomfort was sufficient to inhibit sleeping that night. I see nothing to recommend this treatment for senior citizens, although my doctor administered it to me, knowing I'm 78 years old."

"My rheumatologist had me take it during a routine visit. Had not been taking any RA meds, humira and methotrexate for five months since I felt 110% better and didn't feel I had it anymore. I had almost continuous respiratory infections while on these medications. The nurse told me it would sting and my arm would hurt for a few days. That was the least of my worries. By that evening, I had chills, a fever, and a rash. Could not even get out of bed the next day and go to work, which is very rare for me. Went to work the next day and had a terrible honking unproductive cough and was wheezing and felt like I couldn't catch my breath. I called my doctor and she prescribed a Medrol pack. Helped somewhat but then ended up with a sinus infection."

"I am 58 years old. So, in March, during the pandemic, I decided to get the PCV13 shot. A few hours later, that evening, I noticed a rash on my left arm where it was administered. It was swollen and red. The next day, I woke up, and the rash got larger, but now it came with pain and fever. I called my doctor, no one wants to see me, thinking I have COVID. I was told to take Benadryl due to the possibility of a reaction to the drug. I took Claritin because Benadryl is too strong for me. The rash went on for 6 weeks. Muscle aches and joint pain without relief would not allow me to sleep. Fatigue and back pain, plus a headache, contributed to an overall miserable night and day. I went to the pharmacy, no help. Six weeks later, the rash and fever went away. But now the pain escalated, I can barely lift my arm all the way up without being so sore. Every night, up to today, I'm still suffering from the pain in my arm, unable to sleep at night. Mind you, I suffer from fibromyalgia. This medicine is not for everyone."

"I had extreme swelling at the injection site, muscle, joint, nerve pain continuing and still there four months after injection. Very limited use and movement of the arm where the injection was done. Inflammation caused plaque in arteries to break loose and clog arteries, resulting in two stents having to be placed in the heart. I still have pain in neck and shoulder muscles......"

"Within a few days of the Prevnar 13 injection, my left knee became very painful, limited mobility requiring ice, Motrin, and rest. It lasted 6 weeks and spontaneously resolved. Then my right knee started in the same manner, but much worse, and lasted 10 weeks before spontaneously resolving. I did not have any injuries or change in activities to cause this. In both knees, there was NEVER any swelling, just pain and limited mobility."

"I am a 62-year-old healthy female. Went in for physical on 2/23 and Dr. said I needed Prevnar 13. I was hesitant but agreed. The nurse said I may feel tired the next day. Six hours after the injection, my arm was very sore, body aches started with uncontrollable chills, and my body shook for 4 hours. I barely slept that night as the chills were off and on. Woke up with more severe body aches, blinding headache, and nausea. Day 3 still had body aches and diarrhea. I also noticed that I had a couple of canker sores in my mouth, and I never get canker sores. Aches have subsided by day 5, but I have a mouth full of painful canker sores that prevent me from eating and keep me awake at night. Swallowing is excruciating. It is day 6, and I have swollen glands. This vaccine has been the worst decision for my health. I called the doctor's office, the nurse suggested I had an underlying dental autoimmune problem. Don’t ever be railroaded into taking this injection. I fear I may have ruined my health."

"I had the Prevnar 13 vaccine in October 2018. I was 74 at the time and in good health. Three days after I received this vaccine, I started having problems with dizziness. I had never had this before, except for one episode of vertigo. It is now almost 2 1/2 years later, and I am experiencing dizziness on a daily basis, it just depends on the degree. I have been told by several doctors that the Prevnar is not related to the dizziness, but the CT scans, MRIs, and balance testing find nothing wrong. I will never prove the Prevnar 13 is responsible, but I can find no other reason."

"I got the Prevnar 13 vaccine 4 days ago, wish I had known about the side effects. My arm was sore for a little while, nothing I couldn’t live with. I still have very little appetite, tired, an overall feeling of malaise. Not sure I’ll get the next vaccine."

"I went to see my doc for an unrelated reason. He suggested that it was 'time' that I should get this vaccine. I have asthma, so I’m assuming that’s why it was suggested. I’m 24 years old. I am not having flu-like symptoms, but like another poster said, it didn’t hurt when I initially got the shot, but later that same night I was driving and got a serious pain in my arm and shoulder. I put ice on it today, this is day 2 (almost closer to 3). I actually just took an ibuprofen because of how red, hot, and swollen my arm is. It hurts to move my arm at all. And like most other comments, I definitely can NOT sleep on the arm I got the injection in. I also slept for like 13 hours, which is not very normal. My hands are cold and clammy. I’m definitely going to question any and every vaccine, especially for my young children who can’t tell me when they hurt after! I only want to give them essential vaccines. I really am starting to wonder HOW necessary SOME (not all) vaccines are."

"Same as everyone else, but I also had my second shingles shot and the flu shot the same day. I'm a 66-year-old healthy and in good shape female. On the fourth day, my overall body aches and pain lessened, and now it's mostly in the injection site. Not having much of an appetite and still getting the headaches. I just wish I would have been warned. I guess there is no reason to dash off to my doctor at this point."

"Almost 7 months later, and I am suffering from the Prevnar 13 injection. Got lightheaded and nauseous 15 minutes after the Jan 5. Thought I was going to pass out. Then came reflux and belching. Now I’m finally headed to a scope and colonoscopy. Add anxiety to that, and my life has been miserable for almost 7 months."

"I got the Prevnar 13 two weeks ago and have not been the same since. Nonstop headache and weakness. Had nausea for four days, but it’s gone. Please tell me this gets better. I was fine when I got it. I can’t do anything."

"I had this injection earlier today; it was no more uncomfortable than the annual flu shot that I always get - just a slight stick. I have no redness or irritation at the injection site, and I am experiencing no side effects whatsoever. I've had the 'other' (PPSV23 pneumonia shot), and with it, I did have redness and soreness around the injection site, but it went away after a few days. I've had pneumonia about 10 years ago, and I don't ever want to go through that again. The pneumonia vaccinations are the way if you are 'at risk', as I am."

"Two years ago, I had the flu injection and Prevnar 13 at the same time. By the next day, I was in the ER with chills, fever, diarrhea, major headache, sore arm, and tightness and pain in my chest from the throat down to my stomach. I was told I had pneumonia and sent home with antibiotics. No one could tell me about these side effects, even the pharmacists. I will never get Prevnar or mix injections again."

"Within 15 minutes on my way out of the building, I had severe, sharp pains in my lower back. I managed to go back into the doctor's office and waited with them for 30 minutes. It dissipated, but now I'm afraid to get any other vaccine. Worst pain ever... writhing in pain."

"70-year-old male. Got the vaccine last year. Began experiencing what I believed were COVID-19 symptoms and was rushed to the ER after passing out twice. I’m now hospitalized with debilitating pneumonia, and prescribed a pushed IV drip of multiple antibiotics, and will still need at least 2-3 weeks occupational rehab after discharge. What happened that I wasn’t protected?"

"1st annual preventative injection for pneumonia. I've been told to get a second preventative injection next year around the same time. I have experienced extreme joint pain in my knees, calf muscles, and lower back since being given the Prevnar 13 injection in the arm for over a week. I also developed a lump-like swollen lymph gland in the same arm as the injection was given. The pain is so severe I’m awakened at night. Tylenol and Advil don’t seem to be relieving the pain. Using a heating pad seems to help, but only for a short period. I’m having issues walking and standing. Lying down does not relieve the pain. I’m not sure I want to follow up next year with a second injection."

"Had a pneumonia shot at 45. Said I would never need another. Being 63 and diabetic, doctor recommended one. No worse than a flu shot. Arm was a little sore, so took Advil and slept on the other side. Felt fine the next day."

"All I can't say is, DON'T DO IT! I had the injection yesterday, suffered a near sleepless night because of the soreness. It's still red and sore today. I have NEVER in my life had any sort of reaction like this to a vaccine. Why didn't my doctor forewarn me? It's a horror show. DON'T DO IT."

"Initial injection hurt slightly, was more than I expected, not like a flu shot. However, arm only slightly sore next morning and by end of day no issue at all. Must admit I’ve had allergy shots in the past that were much worse than this, so maybe I was conditioned. If it truly prevents or lessens the serious diseases they discuss, then it’s definitely worth any minor inconvenience of the injection. Recommend."

"Was hospitalized with COPD exacerbation, and my Dr. advised me to take the Prevnar 13 because pneumonia could be fatal for me, so I did. That has been going on for 5 years now. I still have a knot where the injection was given. Nobody around here wants to hear about this, but my arm still swells up and gets hot. The pain (unbearable) goes from my elbow to my neck and causes extreme discomfort, and I have to take 800 mg of Ibuprofen and 20 mg of Flexeril 2 times a day for about 3 days, and it subsides enough that I can function. And then I'm back to it. 5 years!"

"I'm a 64-year-old. Got the Prevnar 13 injection last Friday. Felt fatigued on Saturday and Sunday. Nauseous on Monday and vomiting in the morning. My muscles and joints in my legs started to get painful on Monday. Wednesday, and I can barely walk. Will be going to the doctor this morning. This is like a horror movie to me."

"Had this given 7 days ago. Initial pressure and pain with injection and an after-injection pain rush, but then okay. Not as sore as having a flu shot afterward. Piece of cake and glad to hope that I do not end up with pneumonia, as that was really not fun at all. In the hospital for two weeks and weak as a kitten. If you need it, get it."

"I am a 54-year-old man, and some three and a half years ago, I started my pneumonia history. I got it for the first time in December 2017. After that, I had it from time to time, and in 2019, my doctor asked me if I would take the Prevnar 13 vaccine. I was pleased and, of course, I took it in September 2019. But in March 2020, I got pneumonia again, and I took cortisone also, fifth time in six months. I had many problems from autumn 2019 to March 2020 with my lungs. (I have asthma also.) On March 28, 2020, I was diagnosed with having Covid-19, and of course, it went to my lungs because I had just had pneumonia and a gazillion cortisone courses. But luckily, it was only a problem with cough. After that, I took Pneumovax 23 in September 2020 because I was reading that it would be good to buffer Prevnar 13. After that, I had zero pneumonia and zero Covid-19."
