Opana (oxymorphone) for Pain "Changed my life! I was on norco for 10+ yrs and it stopped working. I started the generic Opana and it makes my pain tolerable. I'm not sure but I am retaining a lot of fluid. This is the only thing I am concerned about."

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "I started out with 10mg, but the side effects were too much! My doc then put me on 5mg, which did nothing at all, then bumped me to 7.5. I am starting back on the 10mg this week because 7.5mg is alright but not really working as well as the 10mg did. Now, although the side effects were horrible, the pain relief was great! I am having insurance issues, so unfortunately for the next couple days, until I can go pick it up, I have to use just my Oxycodone 2xdaily as needed for break through pain, and my muscle relaxant. I realized just in one day how much the 7.5 worked more than I realized when my shoulder and neck started throbbing. It is obvious that although it was not as good as the 10's were for pain relief, it worked more than I realized!"

Opana (oxymorphone) for Pain "I've been on oxymorphone for 10 years. My dr. Just put me on Opana 40mg instead, it's been 3 days and I'm going through withdrawals. I have gastropathy which slows down your digestive system. Seems my pain dr. Doesn't care. I had the test a couple years ago that checks to see if your on the right medications. It showed that the oxymophone and roxicodone was being processed and was the right medication for me. A couple of months ago they wanted to put me on morphine patch. And I said no I think that he is being paid to write opana scripts all of a sudden. Which to me is BS! I hate the gel opana doesn't digest properly. My insurance prefer generic cause it's cheaper I prefer cause it took care of my pain, whereas Opana doesn't"

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "I suffer from neck and back issues with my spine and I have tried many different pain medications and procedures but the one where I got the most relief is Opana. Sometimes the pain is so bad that Opana or my breakthrough medication do not control it. Maybe 6 to 10 times a week."

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "I've got scoliosis and disc herniation. I was taking Vicoprofen 7.5/200 four times a day. It worked great. My Dr refused to write for it anymore and insisted I take Opana ER 10mg 2X daily. I went from a $15 co-pay to a $180 co-pay. The medicine seems to do OK with the pain...but the constipation!! Also, I feel very sad and somber on it."

Opana (oxymorphone) for Pain "I have been on Opana 20mg ER for almost a year now. I changed to Opana as my insurance would no longer cover the Oxycontin. It took my doctor almost 6 months to figure out a dose that was acceptable to me. Aside from occasional head sweats I like the Opana a lot. Every once in a while I experience night terrors, but do not know if they are related to the Opana or not. As far as my pain is concerned, they seem to do the job well, and I do not get the side effects that I got with the Oxycontin."

Opana (oxymorphone) for Pain "I was switched to Opana from OxyContin because even 150 mg of Oxy a day wasn't managing my pain anymore. Opana was said to work just as effectively at lower doses, with fewer of the miserable side effects of Oxy (constipation, drowsiness, etc.). I have found that to be the case in general; my daily dosage is more like 50-80 mg per day on this med and I can go to the bathroom again without using a suppository first. My pain control started out slightly better on this med, but since I'm a fast metabolizer of opiates, I've started developing a tolerance to this one, too, and the pain is bothering me again to the point where I can't function. My major complaints about this med is that it is very hard to find, and it is costly."

Opana (oxymorphone) for Pain "This medicine has been very effective however it doesn't last the full 12 hours of pain relief as it is prescribed. For me it lasts about 8 hours. I did get horrible constipation so stay hydrated. Never flush unused drugs down the toilet. It can severely effect fish and other animals along the watershed. Water treatment plants do not treat for disposed drugs."

Opana (oxymorphone) for Pain "Good long-term analgesia with the extended release formula, which seems to work for over 8 hours, though I don't think it has the full 12-hour benefit as advertised. Less 'fuzziness' than oxycodone (or even hydrocodone), which is a positive for me. I suppose it's not so good for "recreational" users - the new ER formula is supposed to be highly abuse-proof - but for those is REAL chronic pain, Opana-ER works well, similar to Oxycontin, and is very easy to use - one dose in the morning, another in the evening."

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "I take Opana ER 20mg twice a day along with Oxycodone 30mg 3 times a day for break through pain, I think it works wonderful. I have severe lower back pain all day and all night. If I don't have the Opana along with the Oxycodone then it just doesn't work well at all. I have tried many other medicine and this is the one that works for sure."

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "I had 3 back operations and on the second one I had two implants put in my L5 disc. The second and 3rd operation was about 2 1/2 years ago. Since then I was taking one 30mg Oxycontin 3 times per day and two 10mg Percocet 3 times per day. Then the Oxycontin got reformulated and did not only quit helping with the pain but also made me sick. So after talking with my pain management doctor he suggested and prescribed 40mg Opana twice a day along with my Percocet. This medicine worked so much better then the Oxycontin. The pain is gone. "

Opana (oxymorphone) for Pain "I was on 200 mcg of Fentanyl Patchs, and 100mg of MS Contin 3 times a day and 30mgs of MSIR (instant release morphine) 3 times a day for almost 7 years for these horrible migraines I have constantly. These medicines were not helping anymore after being on them for so long. About 6 months ago I changed doctors who switched me to Opana ER. I am taking 80mgs every 12 hours along with 600mcg Fentora 3 times a day for breakthrough pain. I have not had any side effects from the Opana at all which is wonderful and I can function daily and not be laid up in bed constantly. I would definitely recommend Opana ER but just think about something for breakthrough pain in case it is needed."

Opana (oxymorphone) for Pain "I have to say, the IR's work much better than the ER's for me. I take 6 - 10mgs per day. I used to be on many other things for pain such as OC 80's and MS 100's but the roller coaster leveled right out as soon as I started the Opana and the pain leveled also. Everyone is different and everyone's pain is different so suggesting a certain pill is hard for me to do. Hope if you are given these, best of luck with your pain as they worked for me."

Opana (oxymorphone) for Pain "Works much better than the oxy's for my arthritis. I don't get such wicked side effects, either. The Opana winds me up but not nearly as much as the Oxycontins. Also, the hot flashes are nowhere close to what they were."

Opana (oxymorphone) for Pain "Have been taking 40mg Opana 2 x's/day for about 10 months now for a compressed disc/pinched nerve in my neck, chronic migraines and fibromyalgia. Opana SAVED MY LIFE! I was on 8 x 10mg Norco daily which was NOT working. We began Opana and I was able to gradually function almost normally again as a busy photographer and mother of 5! HOWEVER, lately, I have noticed increased breakthrough pain EVERYDAY, but am scared to ask my doctor about increasing my dosage for fear he'll REDUCE my dosage, and thoughts of me curled up in bed in pain again terrify me! Does anyone have any thoughts on this dosage? I KNOW it would help me regain my normal activities that have decreased. I want my LIFE back and Opana has TRULY enabled me to function productively up until now."

Opana (oxymorphone) for Pain "I have been on Opana Er 15mgs for 3yrs now. Was diagnosed with a herniated disc with an annular fissure at L3,4 and 5. Also have degenerative disc disorder, spinal stenosis, plus more back problems and diagnosed with fibromyalgia. All I can say is the Opana ER crush resistant are junk. I was prescribed Oxymorphone Hydrochloride ER 15mg a green pill, the pill form was a miracle for me I could get up and go to work 12-16hrs and they last with hardly taking a Percocet for breakthrough pain had my life back with the generic. The name brand Opana ER are junk. I always have an empty stomach when I take and not even an hr later my stomach is upset and always have diarrhea."

Opana (oxymorphone) for Pain "I have injured my back several times over the course of about 12 years. I have tried everything under the sun. I am currently on the 5mg ER 2 x daily and the 10mg IR 3-4 x a day for breakthrough pain. Like many people have said you have to take it on an empty stomach. This medicine works better than any other. As long as you take 2 x ER and 3-4 IR's for breakthrough per day you will have the best results. I am due for my ER's to get increased but other than that this is the best pain management I have ever had."

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "I have spinal stenosis and compressed discs. They said I could not have surgery because of other health issues so medication was the only alternative. Taking Opana ER, I am able to do things I need to do. I can do so much more than I was able to do before. Before taking Opana I was in a wheelchair and cane. All I could do was lay on the bed or couch. I am now taking 20 mg every 12 hours. This is the only drug that has ever helped me."

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "my bottom spinal disks are crooked and rest on my nerves between them. I was on 60mg of Morphine Sulfate Er. and took it for years and asked my Dr. for an increase and he switched me to Opana 20mg Er pills and they helped my back pain and seem to last a little longer between dosage. I am prescribed it twice a day. I seem to have less tiredness than the morphine and I am prescribed 5mg of oxycodone for morning breakthrough pain. Due to my liver condition he won't increase the oxycodone because it makes the liver turn it into morphine to filter it. when I need an increase of the Opana I'm sure he'll give me that because it's a form of morphine and my liver can process it okay. So I hope this helps other people with my condition or similar."

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "I have severe leg and back pain. I have had back and leg pain for quite a few years. In 2008 I fell 25 ft out of a deer stand which tore both rotor cuffs and elbow problems. After 9 operations and physical therapy I still have pain which includes back and leg problems. I started on opana ER and take morphine sulfate for break through. Opana has been a wonderful help which has helped me be able to function through the day with some normality which at one point I couldn't do. And now I hear it's going to be pulled off shelves and done away with. Very Disturbing."

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "I normally take generic opana (oxymorphone) 30mg and it works great for my pain. I can function good such as go to the store, light yard work, and enjoy family. But I recently got the Brand name opana (endo) and it is awful. I'm in so much pain and experiencing withdrawal symptoms. It's been 18 days and it is still like taking a Placebo. My breakthrough oxycodone 30mg is the only thing keeping me out of the hospital. I've been in bed 90% of the time since taking this Endo brand. I think it's the amount of additive in the medication. Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "I just began this drug yesterday, and considering that I have been under pain management for well over 10 years with oxycodone and oxycontin? I am having a VERY difficult time with the side effects of this medication. I will be reporting this to my Dr. IMMEDIATELY today, when his office opens. I have been unable to sleep the entire night, and have ONLY had 2 pills 12 hrs apart! I am going to ER as I cannot continue feeling this way..."

For Pain "If I may start out saying that oxymorphone (Opana ER) is AMAZING! I have two bulged disc's in lumbar region of back. Had a disc in the sacrum region of back replaced 2 yrs ago. I have disc degeneration disease. I have a synovial cyst on my spine. And also have arthritis in my hips, knees and feet. I am only 37 yrs old. Many a doctor has said I was too young to be in this bad a shape! I am due for spinal fusion in my lower lumbar reg in a month. All this pain which I might add is unbearable at times. I can't sit or stand for more than 10 minutes at a time. Sleep is limited. Maybe 4 to 6 hrs. I could not function if it weren't for oxymorphone! It is a wonder medicine. I thank God and my pain management doc for it everyday! I take 30mg 2 daily. Oxycodone10 5x."

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "This Opana is an excellent medication!! I was taken off of oxycontin 60mg and am now on Opana ER 30 mgs. They work so much better than the oxycontin for my pain, and the euphoric side effects aren't too bad to boot either. I would say that a twenty mg opana is equivalent to a forty mg oxy. The thirties are equivalent to about a sixty plus. A very good medicine for pain!!"
