For Influenza "I was diagnosed with flu B two days ago (my symptoms started less than 24 hours before getting diagnosed), and my doctor prescribed me Tamiflu. Not only am I still dealing with flu symptoms (high fevers, body aches, etc.), now I am also dealing with the side effects of this medication. Double whammy! Dizziness, nausea, diarrhea, and insomnia (which I find ironic considering the doctors stress how important resting is). On top of that, my anxiety is at an all-time high. This medication may work for a few, but it definitely did more damage than help in my case. I will stop taking it after trying it for 2 days."

For Influenza "The doctor gave me the option of this after diagnosing the flu. Although it sounded great, I ended up feeling agitated and with severe insomnia, which slowly went away after taking the drug. I even took one more dose a few days later just to make sure, and indeed I had another night of almost zero sleep. Didn't help with symptoms and gave me side effects that made me feel much worse. Avoid."

For Influenza "For me, Tamiflu is far worse than merely useless. After 3 days, my flu symptoms are not any better. On top of that, this medication has caused me to have severe insomnia, which has gotten worse each night. This is despite taking three Benadryl tablets tonight. (Every other time I've taken even one 25 mg Benadryl, I've been OUT within minutes.) I hope to get at least 4 hours of sleep later tonight-like I finally managed last night. I'll call my doctor tomorrow. Hopefully, I can go against the instructions both online and on the box and stop the medication early. I don't want to go through another two sleepless nights. I imagine this is what it feels like to be on bad speed ...with the flu. I'll NEVER take it again!"

For Influenza "Had sudden onset of flu...chest pressure, headache, slight sore throat, and then severe body aches. I called the Dr. and got an appointment same day. He prescribed Tamiflu. I took it at 7 pm...by next morning I had very little symptoms, except for fatigue and a little cough. My fever at the Dr's office was 101, next morning it was 99.8. A couple of hours after my second Tamiflu pill, my fever was 98.6. I am so impressed with this medicine. I think the key is getting this in you as soon as the symptoms appear. I guess I'll see how I feel tomorrow morning, but I think this saved me from getting a full onset of the flu. I take this pill with a full meal and have had no problems with upset stomach or anything like that. Only side effect is insomnia!! :("

For Influenza "Tamiflu worked great for me. I was up moving around and feeling much better after the second dose. The only side effect I experienced was a little insomnia, but that could have been caused by the flu itself. Remember, like any other drug, results vary by individual. Tamiflu is not a miracle drug, and will not work the same for everyone."

For Influenza "Today is Thursday. I woke up last Sunday with a sore throat. By the time night rolled around, I had a 101 fever. I could barely swallow on Monday and had all the typical flu symptoms, so I went to the walk-in care in town. I tested positive for flu type A. I was prescribed Tamiflu - had to go 5 towns over to get it at a pharmacy because of the number of people in my area with the flu. By Tuesday morning (after only 1 pill), I was feeling so much better, it was incredible! By yesterday (Wed), I really had zero symptoms left - amazing! There are some side effects that have been annoying, but nothing compares to what could have happened left untreated. #1 issue: insomnia. I even took a Xanax and could not sleep! The longest I slept since starting is 45 minutes!"

For Influenza "Worst pill I've ever taken. I took the pill at 12, sat, and I'm still awake. I can't sleep for nothing, and to think I spent my money on this expensive stuff. Never again, I’d rather take what I've been taking than to deal with the tossing and turning."

For Influenza "After going over my symptoms (sinus pain, cough, sore throat, and low-grade fever) and being tested for the flu, I was sent home with instructions to take Mucinex, Flonase, Tamiflu, and Tylenol for 5 days. An hour after taking Tamiflu, I felt dizzy, lightheaded, and nauseous, which wore off a few hours later. After doses 2 and 4, I had to take Dramamine to settle my stomach so I could sleep. On day 3, my stomach seemed to tolerate Tamiflu better, but the high feeling (dizzy, lightheaded, and weird heart palpitations) along with stress caused a mild anxiety attack. Ativan calmed things down and allowed me to sleep. By day 4, I was feeling more like myself, but at night Tamiflu gave me insomnia, and I had to take a sleep aid to even get a few hours. Now on day 5, feeling drained and in the ‘high’ phase, I am looking forward to being done. Worth it for keeping the flu at bay, but the side effects are no fun."

For Influenza "My flu started with a hacking cough and vomiting. Within 6 hours, it was clear that I had something pretty severe. Went to the doctor about 36 hours later and was prescribed Tamiflu. The first 2 pills seemed to help, but after that I had diarrhea, seasick-like nausea, and really bad insomnia. It's been 3 days and 6 pills later, and I'm done. I simply can't take the diarrhea, and I can't get any rest. Plus, when I return to work, I don't want to have diarrhea and suffer from lack of sleep. I'll have to take my chances."

For Influenza "I was diagnosed with possible flu Saturday night at Urgent Care after spiking a fever of 103 all of a sudden and generally feeling like rubbish. I had a flu shot. End story, they didn’t actually test me but assumed, gave me a script for Tamiflu and prescription ibuprofen (I have a history of headaches). Initially, I thought it was great. After 2 doses, all the side effects started to hit: insomnia, eye irritations, dizziness, bleeding nose, diarrhea. All for something my regular doctor said wasn’t actually the flu. When I saw my regular doctor on Monday, I was told to finish out the script but rightfully diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection. Almost a week later, I still haven’t slept a full night. Never again Tamiflu, never."

For Influenza "After testing positive for the flu on Friday, I was prescribed Tamiflu. I started that evening and have not been able to sleep since. Symptoms have subsided a lot, but I have not been able to sleep since. Beware of insomnia. Luckily, I am out of work due to the holidays, otherwise, I would be a wreck at work."

For Influenza "I just started taking this, and I took it with milk, so no vomiting, pooping, nausea, but I am wide awake. It doesn't say anything about insomnia on the paperwork. How long does this last?"

For Influenza "Avoid this medicine as much as possible. It created unbearable pain in my left hand, arm, and my chest and jaw. It also created insomnia. I stopped taking it after 2 days."

For Influenza "I just finished my last pill of Tamiflu, and I couldn’t be happier that I’m done with the treatment. This drug is powerful; though it did help curb my flu in the first few days, I wonder if it was worth it. I’ve experienced severe dehydration, insomnia, and nausea throughout my experience. Those side effects got progressively worse throughout my time taking it. I caution anyone who takes this potent drug; it does affect your personality, as I found myself a little irritable and on edge. Overall, it helped, but it may not be worth the risk ... I just hope I go back to normal tomorrow!"
