For Influenza "I was prescribed Tamiflu earlier today, and I took it. I had started displaying symptoms of the flu about 36 hours before I visited the doctor, and she recommended Tamiflu. I had high hopes it would relieve me of the illness sooner, but I can't take this. About an hour or so after I took one capsule, I began vomiting 2 to 3 times an hour. The nausea is still bothering me, and it's been five hours."

For Influenza Prophylaxis "Prescribed Tamiflu after being exposed to someone who tested positive for the flu, and I was showing mild symptoms (congestion, drainage, fatigue). The only side effects I noticed at first were nausea and stomach cramps. I took the pill with plenty of food. The stomach upset wasn't so intense I couldn't handle it. I'm on the last of my pills (2 left), and today my anxiety is a bit increased. I have an anxiety disorder, so I'm not sure if it's the pills or just me. As far as taking care of my symptoms: I do feel like it helped keep symptoms less severe than they would have been without it. I fared much better than my relative who tested positive. But I never got tested, so I have to give it a 5 since I'm not sure if it was the flu or a common cold."

For Influenza "I was prescribed Tamiflu in the morning on a Tuesday. Took before noon. This made me feel much worse. Vomiting, nausea, and headaches. Took four pills total, and after taking Tamiflu, each time made me feel terrible. I had to stop."

For Influenza "Tested positive for the flu and prescribed Tamiflu. Began taking it at noon the day prescribed. Day two was rough - fever, aching, brutal cough, and an added surprise - nausea, gas, bloating, and diarrhea. Day three: no fever or aching, BUT stomach pain unbearable. Cannot eat, even though I am hungry, because of nausea and stomach pain; horrible combination! Can't sleep because I haven't eaten, yet when I take a bite of anything, I want to puke! I would rather have battled the fever, etc. with OTC medication and suffered than deal with the side effects. Day four: hardly slept, up at 3 am trying to find something I can eat and keep down. Did not take 2nd dose on day three, and I'm not taking another pill. Would NOT recommend this medication."

For Influenza "Running a 104 fever for 24 hours, went to urgent care and tested positive for influenza A. Took Tamiflu, and my nausea, headache, chills, and fever broke within 3 hours! Completely worth having a flu swab jammed up my nose."

For Influenza "Came down with the flu on Sunday, had fever, back ache, sore throat, etc. Went to the doctor, but they didn't check for the flu, said it was a sinus infection. By Tuesday, I was still feeling ill, so I went back to the doctor and had a positive flu test. Started Tamiflu that day. Tamiflu caused me to be extremely nauseous on Wednesday, I was throwing up from Tamiflu. I did not throw up or have diarrhea in the 3 days I had the flu. Not sure if I want to keep taking it or not, but it's Thursday, and although no fever or back ache, I still have a flu headache and exhaustion."

For Influenza "I am on day 6 of this medicine, and I still feel horrible. The body aches are gone (thank goodness), but everything else still exists. I'm still extremely tired and nauseous, and I have been coughing uncontrollably, sneezing, runny nose, etc. I cannot stand more than a minute without having to lay down. I feel like I wasted $50.00. I was so excited to get this drug to offer me some relief."

For Influenza "I had a horrible experience with Tamiflu. The first dosage I took made me highly nauseous for hours. I took my second dosage, and I couldn't stop vomiting. I quit taking it because, without it, I can at least keep fluids down."

For Influenza "My granddaughter was put on this medicine after being diagnosed 1 day for flu. She took 3-4 liquid doses and ended up in the ER to get anti-nausea medication because it made her sicker than the flu itself. She discontinued it immediately and made a 360-degree turnaround. She had an upset stomach with vomiting and sneezing, red eyes, and watery mucus. This medication is definitely NOT the answer and NOT worth the money it cost!!!!"

For Influenza "Went to the doctor this morning and found out I had the flu. My symptoms began 2 days ago, so they said I’m right at the end of it working, but to try it anyway. I haven’t been having an appetite lately due to the illness, but I made sure to eat before taking the medicine since I didn’t want to take it on an empty stomach. Within 3 hours, I was severely nauseous and just threw up 5 times. I will not be continuing this medication. I am going to let my body fight this off naturally. These side effects are not worth it to me."

For Influenza "I started experiencing symptoms of the flu exactly 48 hours before I was prescribed Tamiflu. After my first dose, I experienced extreme nausea and vomiting within thirty minutes and decided the medication wasn't worth the pain. I hadn't had any issues with nausea before taking Tamiflu. Although the next morning, I was already feeling noticeably better. I won't continue the medication, as the worst part of the flu is already over, but I don't think I will be taking it again."

For Influenza "Started taking Tamiflu on the second day of my flu. I was diagnosed with flu Type A. My flu symptoms included extreme fatigue, body ache, sore throat, cough, and a fever of 102. Within one day of taking Tamiflu, my fever was gone, however, I feel the side effects of constant nausea, leg pains, night sweats, stomach discomfort, and migraines. I’m not sure if the benefits outweigh the negative side effects of this medication."

For Influenza "Extreme fatigue, diarrhea, nausea, depression, and anxiety. I felt so much better before taking this-never had any of those symptoms before. This is awful, there is no way I can finish the prescription."

For Influenza "Symptoms started 12/31/2017, wasn't sure it was flu because I have fibromyalgia. I'm over 60, also thought symptoms might be due to weather. Fibromyalgia meds didn't work, and on January 1, 2018, the symptoms got worse. Unbearable body ache, it really does feel like you got hit by a Mack truck, along with other flu symptoms. Tuesday a.m., I tested positive for influenza A and was prescribed Tamiflu, as well as Zithromax, Medrol/prednisone, and guaifenesin. Starting first dose Tues. a.m., body ache reduced 50% by Wednesday p.m. BUT the stomach ache and nausea are brutal. Taking meds with applesauce and oyster crackers and CVS brand apple-flavored Pedialyte. Easy to take, not sure if it's worth the side effects."

For Influenza "My husband tested positive for the flu, so my midwife prescribed me Tamiflu the second I started feeling any symptoms. I’m 16 weeks pregnant, and she wanted to make sure the flu didn’t turn into anything more serious. I was nervous to take it because of all the bad reviews of vomiting, but decided to try it anyway. I wish now that I hadn’t! The first day of taking it was fine, and I thought I was in the clear, but sure enough, about 1 hour after my third dose, I became extremely nauseated and threw up all afternoon. This medicine is not worth it! My husband, however, has not had any bad side effects at all from it, so it does work for some people. I will not be taking it again, though!"

For Influenza Prophylaxis "I have 5 little ones sick with the flu. Doctor prescribed Tamiflu. The taste is horrid, I have to wrestle each one of them to get the medicine down. I now have 2 with such bad nausea and diarrhea. I am assuming side effects. One with nosebleeds. I can't say if it has helped, for a prescription, I would hope for something easier for children to take. Also, they have still had the high fevers and flu symptoms. 4 of the children were taking Tamiflu before flu symptoms occurred."

For Influenza "I was prescribed Tamiflu after testing positive for influenza. I thought I just had a head cold, but nothing OTC was touching my symptoms before Tamiflu. However, I recommend weighing your flu symptoms before taking Tamiflu, especially if you are a busy person who doesn't have time to be laid up on the couch like myself. If the flu already has you nauseated and a pounding headache, the potential headache and nausea side effects from Tamiflu won't be noticeable. Before Tamiflu, I felt I could vomit at any second, and just the sunlight intensified my headache so much my eyes would just pour water, today I no longer feel that way. I know the Zofran has also helped with the nausea. Thirty-six hours (three doses) into Tamiflu, and my aches are noticeably better."

For Influenza "I am in my 20s and deteriorated rapidly over a day, coughing terribly, joint aches, migraine, very high fever that I couldn't get down with anything while feeling cold and shaking amongst other symptoms. After being up most of the night, I went to the doctor and was told it's the flu - tested as well. I was prescribed Tamiflu, and it's already helping me so much, my fever is much more manageable, and although I'm still very sick, I was able to sleep all night without severe temperature changes. I also suffer from chronic nausea, and I know this medicine can make you feel nauseous, but I have had no problems with it at all (I am surprised). I would certainly recommend this treatment if you catch it in time."

For Influenza "Flu hit me bad on a Monday night/Tuesday morning. Sore throat, aches, low-grade fever. I wasn't getting better by Thursday, so I went in that night and tested positive for influenza A. Took first dose that night with a big dinner. Next morning I only had a snack (because it says just a snack is fine). I was throwing up bad within 30 minutes. Called the pharmacy, and thankfully you can take meclizine with it. Next dose Friday night, I ate a lot and took half a meclizine, and I was fine. I'm on my second dose Saturday night and still feel sick. I'm sad because I thought I'd be near the end of the flu by now. My throat isn't as bad, but my body is still so weak, and I have a headache. I'll still take it because I bet I would have gotten worse, and I'm a mom."

For Influenza "My 5-year-old woke up with a fever and lethargic, called the doctor, had her in by 8 a.m. She tested positive for the flu, so they gave her Tamiflu and antibiotics. Poor baby would puke for 10 minutes twice a day. Imagine this twice a day for a week. I called the doctor, they say don't discontinue. Said nothing of nausea. I have 2 teenagers and have been through the flu several times and have never seen anything like it. Never again. False sense of feeling better, then you are on the floor puking till your eyes are bloodshot and glossed over. So sad. I won't do the next box."

For Influenza "I'm a teacher in Japan and caught the flu from my students. I have never felt more sick in my whole life - pounding head, nausea, chills, muscle aches, and weakness. Every step was agony, to the point where I was crying like a baby. The doctor gave me Tamiflu and also something to bring down the temperature. Within a few hours of taking the initial dose, the most severe of the symptoms had disappeared. It's day three, and now it just feels like I have a bad cold. I didn't get nausea like some other people, and my first dose was on an empty stomach. Everyone must be different. For those worried about nausea, my suggestion is asking the doctor to give you an anti-nausea medication to take with the Tamiflu."

For Swine Flu "Had the worst flu I ever experienced. High and low temperatures, aching body, and delirium (swine flu). I was told not to go near the doctor's surgery (I was too ill to get out of bed anyway). No doctor would visit me at home. A relative was allowed to collect a prescription for Tamiflu and bring it to me, with as little contact as possible. I was warned about vomiting as a side effect. I vomited soon after taking the first dose, and the nausea lasted for 24 hours. However, my flu symptoms started to subside within that 24 hours, and I was on my way to recovering within a few days of taking Tamiflu."

For Influenza "I was achy, feverish (100.4), and had a severe headache. I felt like a truck ran me over. I went to the Dr. and was prescribed Tamiflu. I took the first dose and noticed a difference. I didn't have nausea, insomnia, or diarrhea. No side effects. I was skeptical, as viral infections have to run their course, but I'm so happy I took it."

For Influenza "I’m on the 3rd dose of 10 currently. Tested positive for influenza type A with fever (102+) and heavy body aches/extreme tiredness. First dose: took before bed on night 1. Woke up feeling MUCH better. Second dose: 9:30 am today. Some headache and some body aches, no other side effects. Third dose: just now. Took it with a big meal and tons of ice water. I was very nervous about the nausea side effect (I hate throwing up) and the mental effects. No issues thus far. Got a great night's sleep last night too, likely because being off work with the flu gave me a chance to slow down mentally."

For Influenza "Came down with the flu and felt like I was dying. My niece told me she took Tamiflu and felt better. I went to the urgent care facility near me where I tested positive for the flu and was prescribed Tamiflu. It wasn't long after taking the first pill that my symptoms seemed to subside. I did feel nausea after the first dose, but those side effects disappeared with subsequent doses, as did most of my flu symptoms. I stopped vomiting, didn't feel achy, didn't have chills, and was able to get back to work and function normally. Tamiflu is a miracle drug!"
