Oseltamivir for Influenza "Woke up at midnight, nauseated and with horrible body aches. The next day, I didn't think I could get to the doctor but went to the urgent care. Dx with flu based on symptoms, but I declined the nasal swab due to cost. I waited to take it until I could confirm I had a fever when the Motrin wore off. I woke up feeling so much better!! This medication has been a miracle for me. It's my second time taking it."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "I had a fever of 102 for 2 days with flu symptoms, so the doctor prescribed me Tamiflu, saying it would work wonders. I only took it for two days before he told me to stop. Every time I would take it, I would throw up. It didn't matter if I took it with food or not, the result was nausea and then vomiting. My doctor eventually said to just take Tylenol and stop the Tamiflu, which was much better and eventually broke the fever. The medicine cost me $50 with insurance, which is high to me. I would never use this again. Horrible medicine."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "Tamiflu the first day seemed to just make me nauseated and have a headache. Second day, even with food, I was vomiting and had a severe headache. Decide for yourself, I think this medication is not worth the side effects."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "Took this medication to help treat the flu. I took this with food because I have a sensitive stomach. Almost immediately after taking, I began having extreme nausea and diarrhea. I’ve been throwing up since I took this medication and noticed that this is one of the most common side effects. I personally would not recommend."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "I tested positive for Influenza A on Tuesday afternoon. I took my first dose of Tamiflu that night. Had a fever overnight, but then my temp broke by Wednesday morning, so that was the last time I had a fever, and today is now Sunday. My only 2 complaints about the Tamiflu are that it made me incredibly nauseous every time I took it, and I also got bad headaches from it too."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "Went to the doctor with what I thought was a sinus infection - got diagnosed with the flu and prescribed both a Z-pack and Tamiflu. My stomach tends to be sensitive, so my doctor warned me to eat before taking my medications and even took the extra step of writing me a script for Zofran (anti-nausea). I went home and had a good lunch of chicken soup and toast. I took my meds and fell asleep for about three hours. Then I woke up feeling really, really nauseous and proceeded to vomit for the next six hours. However, somewhere in there, my fever broke, and I'm feeling slightly better - I am hesitant to continue this course of medication, so I will be calling my doctor to seek further advice on whether or not to continue this treatment."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "I am stopping this medication now (my third day) and will never take it again. I am so nauseous and cannot stop vomiting. I am unable to even sip water! I have an awful pain in my upper abdomen, and I have not slept since beginning treatment. I would rather suffer through the flu than the side effects of this so-called medication, the flu is much less painful."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "I got diagnosed with severe type A flu, with a fever of 103 and terrible chills, with nonstop nausea and vomiting. The first two doses were great, I lost the chills and my fever went down. However, after the 3rd dose, I started to have intense stomach cramps that were so bad I had to go to the ER. Additionally, I started to have random jerks with my arms and legs when I tried to sleep, I had intense chills, my eyes were dry and bloodshot, and an intense headache. The worst part of the Tamiflu experience is that I was also not able to take my zofran for my vomiting. It reversed the effect of the zofran, so instead of making my nausea go away, it made it many times worse. Anything except for water made my stomach ache to the point of going to the ER, as said earlier. This is the first review I have ever done for anything online, which is a shocker because I am 18. I am doing this to emphasize the total hideous side effects of this drug. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "I was prescribed Tamiflu for the obvious reason: to lessen the duration of my flu symptoms. WORST MISTAKE EVER. The nausea was the worst I have ever experienced. The vomiting was worse than just puking on the flu itself. The nausea and vomiting lasted about 4-5 hours after taking Tamiflu. I would never waste my money on this drug again."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "After experiencing flu-like symptoms for two days, I went to the urgent care clinic. The doctor prescribed Tamiflu! After my first dose, I immediately experienced stomach cramps and diarrhea. That evening, I took my second dose, I experienced nausea and dizziness and broke out in a rash on my belly. The following morning, I was hesitant to take another dose, but the doctor had strict orders to finish the prescription. I was very disappointed when, after 30 minutes, I felt nauseated again, and this time, I vomited twice! That was it for me. It actually made me feel worse! I should have just let the flu run its course! However, I am a diabetic, and I did not want complications. I will never again use this poison nor recommend it."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "I was just prescribed this today. My fever is down, but the stomach pain and nausea I get from taking these pills is so intense I'd rather have the fever again. This is a truly miserable medication. I don't think I'll be able to take the full course."

For Influenza "I fully recommend it. I can't understand the negative reviews, because early in my flu, I was put on a standard five-day cycle of Oseltamivir, taking two capsules per day, and late on Day 2 of taking it, my symptoms were starting to improve, which was, for me, a relief because that flu started awful. From that point, over the next few days of taking Oseltamivir, my fever went down, nausea lessened, less body aches, a bit more energy, much less overall pain and malaise. For some, it doesn't lessen your symptoms quite that soon, but it sure did save me from continued pain. My previous case of the flu - without Tamiflu - had me more or less bedridden for an entire week. You just need to catch the virus early for this medication to work."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "I felt fine the 1st day on this drug, eating anything and everything that sounded good. Then the 2nd day, I took it again in the morning and was fine for a few hours, then boom. I went downhill. Finally, it was time for supper. I tried soup, it was okay, then I ate yogurt and took the medicine. Well, my body didn't like that. I got to spend my time emptying my stomach after that. Now onto the 3rd day, I'm really not sure if I want to take it 2 times a day."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "The doctor prescribed me Tamiflu, 1 pill twice a day for 5 days. I took Tamiflu for 3 days, and although the flu symptoms got better already by the second day into the treatment, I had horrible side effects from the medication: a very strange headache around the eyes and forehead (it was hard to even open my eyes), nausea, a feeling of heaviness in my legs and arms, anxiety, restlessness, insomnia, heart palpitations, and horrible nightmares. On the fourth day, I stopped taking it, and the headache disappeared, but the other symptoms remained, though in a minor scale. I’m on the 6th day and still not fully recovered from the side effects, the feeling of heaviness in my legs and arms still persists. I would not recommend this medication and wish I hadn’t taken it. I have told all my friends to never take it."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "From reading through these comments, it seems a large consensus that Tamiflu causes nausea and stomach aches. For me, this was not as severe as some other commenters have experienced. I also experienced 'spaciness,' grogginess, and vivid dreams. I was exposed during Thanksgiving from some family members who tested positive, and five days later, no symptoms. Thanks, Tamiflu! I also wonder how much of these flu-like symptoms commenters think are 'from' Tamiflu, but are actually from the flu virus."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "I was given Tamiflu on Sunday, February 14th. My fever broke that evening, and the aches went away, but Tuesday morning, I was so nauseous and had bad stomach cramps and diarrhea. I couldn't function. Missed another day of work. Not sure side effects are worth it. Prescription was expensive, and all I can say is my fever is gone. Not sure if it was the meds or just the flu running its course. Recommend not taking it. Sometimes the cure is worse than the ailment."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "62 y.o. female. First time with flu virus in 15 yrs. Went to Medfast & was prescribed Tamiflu. Afraid to take last day dose because of fuzziness in my right eye last night. Still have flu symptoms for 4 days & counting. Other side effects from Tamiflu were: right eye blur, bad headache, dry mouth, hoarseness, muscle spasms, sweating, slight upper abdominal pain, nausea. You can see why I am afraid to take anymore. Don't know if it shortened flu symptoms. This is day 5 & feel a little better but have severe headache & coughing still. So maybe took meds too late but getting fuzzy in my right eye last night scared me enough to stop it."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "Tamiflu was amazingly effective the first time I got the flu this year. No side effects, and within three days, I felt a world of difference. However, after getting reinfected a few days ago, this time it has only made me feel so much worse. The nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting have been ridiculous. I already have chronic nausea, so it's only exacerbated the condition. I'm stopping taking them today because I'm tired of getting home extra late after work due to having to leave work AND get off my buses early to puke and poop every 45 minutes. Rite Aid's 'Maximum Strength Nighttime Severe Cold & Flu' is significantly more effective, and so far I've not experienced any side effects (nausea is still there, but I'm pretty sure it's my GI issues and not the medication itself). If Tamiflu works for you, then please don't take my experience as word of law, and take it, it just isn't worth it for me to take it."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "My 1.5-year-old daughter got diagnosed with the flu and was given Tamiflu. She ended up being admitted to the hospital for severe vomiting and diarrhea, she was taken off of it. My husband and I were both given Tamiflu as well. On day 3 of taking it, we both became violently ill. I am still sick: vomiting, cramps, nausea, and diarrhea. These are not typical flu symptoms, and so I can only imagine it is from the drug. Upon further reading up on side effects on the Tamiflu website, this drug can cause liver damage and ulcers. I DO NOT recommend unless absolutely necessary."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "My throat started hurting on Saturday night. Sunday, I was home in bed all day. I just thought I had a bad cold, so after sleeping all morning and night on Sunday, I went to work on Monday. I stayed home on Tuesday and Wednesday. Wednesday night, I took my son to the doctor and had him check me as well. By then, I was feeling mostly better, although I still wasn’t back to myself. The doctor said it looks like I have the flu, and I tested positive for having the flu (not sure which exact type). The doctor prescribed Tamiflu. I was given the generic version. I took it that night, and it made me feel worse. It kept me awake all night and made me very nauseous. It also made my flu symptoms worse. I was on my way to recovery, but that took away the progress that I was making and made me feel worse. I only took the medicine that one time, but it did its damage. This medicine definitely prolonged my flu."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "I started taking Tamiflu, and on day 3, I started having severe panic attacks. I woke up out of a dead sleep because I thought someone was screaming at me. I was trying to take care of my son, and I almost passed out from the dizziness caused by Tamiflu. Not to mention the horrible nausea, heartburn, and stomach cramps. I will never take this drug again."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "Tamiflu is not worth feeling better by half a day (per scientific review)! Physician started me on Tamiflu (flu confirmed by lab). Took exactly as prescribed and fared relatively well the first day. The second day was mostly uneventful. The fifth dose resulted in mild nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. The sixth dose was horrible. Shortly after the sixth dose, I experienced acute abdominal pain, severe nausea/vomiting, and diarrhea. My abdomen hurt so badly I asked my husband to take me to the ER. The wait was painfully/unbearably long, so I decided to go home. I ate nothing but ice chips for 48 hours. Never made it past the sixth dose. Tamiflu is so overhyped and can have significant side effects."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "I started taking it on day 2 after the doctor prescribed. Although I gained some strength back, the tremendous headache, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea were horrible. The worst part was insomnia, I could barely sleep, only slept 2-3 hours at most each time, body still aching."

Oseltamivir for Influenza "Saved my life. I was completely unable to get out of bed for 3 days, barely able to open my eyes. The hospital prescribed Tamiflu after my test came back positive, and by the 3rd dose, I began to feel life again. Any nausea and lightheaded effects could be from the flu itself, not the meds, as I felt those symptoms anyway and actually fainted prior to the meds. I am on day 5 since the diagnosis and feeling about 70% better."
