For Glaucoma "Have used for over a year along with Dorzolamide/Timolol PF for glaucoma. They appear to be working somewhat, but the cost of these medications is getting harder and harder to afford. I am on a Medicare Part D drug plan, and no one covers the cost of these meds. With the methazolamide, I have noticed increased dryness of mouth and increased urination. Having only one eye, I can understand my ophthalmologist wanting to use the best drugs possible. Since this is a generic drug, I cannot understand why the price is so high."

For Glaucoma "Just started it about 1.5 weeks ago. I was taking 1 50 mg daily, and my doc encouraged me to take it 2x/day. So far, it affected my sleep and left me feeling quite tired. I'm not sure of its effectiveness."

For Glaucoma "I have been taking methazolamide for 2 months for glaucoma. I take the drug 3 times per day in 25 mg doses. I had taken several drops per day for years for glaucoma, and my eyes were reacting to all the drops. My eyes are feeling much better than they were a couple of months ago. I don't have the constant eye irritation, and my meibomian glands are no longer swollen. It's a huge benefit for my eyes to feel more relaxed and less irritated. The most difficult part is staying on a regimen and taking the drug 3 times per day. Trying to eat close to the same time each day has been a challenge for me. This medicine must be taken with food. I've also had to adjust my diet. I no longer eat citrus fruits or tomatoes, they give me indigestion. On this drug, I have to be cautious of my diet, and I have found other foods to eat that don't bother me. Just remember to take this drug with food and drink lots of water. I sip water all day. No other side effects for me."

For Glaucoma "Took 25 mg, and within 3 hours, I had a headache and nausea, leading to an hour of retching. I'm a senior, and this made me ill all day."

"I have been using this medication for about 3 years. It has kept the swelling on my optic nerve under control. When I first started taking the drug, it made me feel pretty ill, but that stopped after a short adjustment period. I do suffer from some side effects, such as a dry mouth, and I need to drink a lot of water, a sensitivity to the sun and heat, and occasionally some tingling/numbness on my cheeks or fingertips. I do have to eat when I take this, otherwise, I feel shaky/queasy. However, they are not unbearable side effects."
