For Hashimoto's disease "I have had Hashimoto's disease for 33 years. I have taken Tirosint for 13 years. I have allergies to dyes and other excipients in medications. I tried other brands, generic and natural, but Tirosint has worked well for me. If my dose needs adjustment they offer 13 to 25 mcg options to make transitioning up or down easier on my body. Always advocate for yourself. It's your body, you know how you feel. Speak up!"

For Hashimoto's disease "Thyroid was removed a year ago for papillary cancer, been on levothyroxine since. Gained 20 pounds on generic levothyroxine and felt awful, would wake up with a puffy face and eyes even though blood tests showed in range. My endo just switched me to tirosint and after one week I feel so much better. My face and legs are retaining less water, last time I felt this good was prior to my thyroidectomy. I have celiac and crohns which probably caused absorption issues. I also hate dairy and generic levothyroxine has a dairy base, go figure."

For Hashimoto's disease "Horrible medication. As a 65 year old with recent diagnosis of Hashimoto's disease, I was on this drug for 2 months. The second month things got worse. Chest pains, not sleeping, terrible muscle aches. Well, I ended up in the emergency room with chest pains which led to a triple bypass operation!!! This drug should be off the market!!!"

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "After trying 3 different medicines and a countless number of dosage combinations we found out that my body was not absorbing the tablets properly and the gel capsules allow my body to absorb the proper amounts. After having thyroid cancer at 15 and not being able to find anything that really worked I'm glad we tried this. The only downside is the cost since it is almost triple what I have been paying for every other medications."

For Hashimoto's disease "After being diagnosed with Hashimoto's (awful ideopathic urticaria/welts from being touched), I was told to try generic Synthroid. My rashes disappeared. Months later, I did a self-trial and came to find out it caused my awful acid reflux (so bad I was screaming and wrenching in pain), so it was a choice of off Synthroid totally or try Tirosint. My TSH and other levels are great and no more daily acid relux. Thank you, Tirosint!"

For Underactive Thyroid "In February I was switched from name brand Synthyroid to Tirosint 25 mcg. I also take Cytomel 5 mcg. Since then a month later I am fatigued, pain in joints especially in hands wrists, legs, ankles, and very irritable. I'm not sure if Tirosint is the cause, but nothing has really changed to make me feel like this. I'm guessing it has to be from Tirosint."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "I've had my thyroid removed for over ten years now. I've taken generic thyroid medicine, Synthroid, and now Tirosint. The dye in my Synthroid kept me from getting regulated. My body responded well to Tirosint for about 5 consecutive years. Due to insurance changes, I got off of it last year and got back on this year when my physician made a few calls to assist me. To my dismay, Tirosint is not working for me, even with me taking Cytomel to help me digest and absorb it. I'm tired, have thinning hair, levels are at 8.999, and I'm sweating with every movement. I'm quite disappointed that I can't get regulated."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "After other useless generics, name brand Tirosint was most effective. Known as the hypoallergenic, it has no dyes and weird additives. Worth the name brand money. My thyroid removed in 2001. Give it a couple weeks to level out. Covered due to failure of others, have doc get a drug exception."

For Hashimoto's disease "I was on Synthyroid 50mcg and generic levothyroxine 50mcg. With both medications I had palpitations, heat intolerance, and severe insomina. Synthyroid was worse than levothyroxine. My TSH numbers were fine but I couldn't tolerate the insomina. The positive thing was that I lost 30 pounds. I was switched to Tirostint 50mcg& immediately could finally sleep. No more insomnia, no more palpitations, no more heat intolerance. I recently got my lab work back & I have a normal TSH, but I've started getting hypothyroid-like symptoms I used to have when I was no thyroid medication. So even though my TSH is normal and I can sleep, I am having weight gain, increased constipation, and hair line eczema. Alas I will try another brand!"

For Underactive Thyroid "I switched over to Tirosint after taking levothyroxine for the past two years. It worked for me, I felt great and energetic. The only downside after switching is that I gained at least 10-15 lbs, and my face has gotten puffy I hate it. My insurance won’t cover the dose I’m on (150mcg) and it’s just way too expensive out of pocket. I believe my last refill was around $150, the pharmacy was able to bring it down to $113, which is still a lot for only a 28 day supply. I just switched to Armour Thyroid, (90mg). Hopefully that will help with the weight loss, it’s also NDT which is another good alternative if you prefer the natural route."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "I have been on tirosint for about 7 weeks. I was on synthroid, then levothyroxine, then armour. This is the only medicine that seems to work. I also take 5mg of t3. I take it first thing at 540 am wait an hour or more to eat and it’s successful. I sleep well, I’m losing weight. I’m normally around 150 pounds and I gained up to 210 on the other medications. I’m finally feeling more normal again. Let’s hope it stays this way"

For Underactive Thyroid "I'll be switching to Tirosint most probably. Reason is that Mylan which makes the generic Levothyroxine, has switched to using Mannitol as the preservative. I've been getting headaches for weeks until I traced it to the mannitol and started using some pills for old bottles."

For Hashimoto's disease "I have been on Tirosint for several years, and haven’t “noticed” any type of changes. I just don’t always feel great. But for those of you upset with the price, which it is ridiculous. Even with insurance, Tirosint has a coupon online. Just type in Tirosint coupon. Hope this helps!! I pay $25.00 a month."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "I was on generic levothyroxine for a couple of years and developed wheezing. When I received inhalers and even nebulizer treatment it had adverse effects and worsened my asthma symptoms. I read about Tirosint and persuaded my PCP to prescribe it. I have to pay $80 every month out of pocket. My asthma is completely gone. It was drug induced, probable some fillers in the generic levothyroxine caused it. I wish my insurance company would make it less expensive."

For Underactive Thyroid "This medicine I thought would be very good, vboy was I wrong.vIt lowered my numbers but it caused me to run a low grade fever that is making me miserable and I just discovered what was causing the fever. I thought to start looking at all my medicines again and lo and behold it stated that one of the less side effects was fever.vI am going to see if my medical doctor will change it to something else."

For Hashimoto's disease "I am 25 years old and was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s a few months ago. Taking tirosint is the best I have felt in the 2 years of being diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I have more energy, the pill is easier to swallow (being gel), my mood has increased positively, and I can maintain weight. I will never take general levothyroxine or synthroid again."

For Hashimoto's disease "I was on it for two years as I liked the idea of no fillers, etc...yet all of a sudden when I needed more, my body rejected it. I needed to go up to 50 mcg. but it felt like a real let down, twice I went through that and then knew my body was rejecting Tirosint. So, I went back to Synthroid and I am fine."

For Hashimoto's disease "Started taking Tirosint (50 mg) when I was diagnosed with Hashimotos and had a TPO pf 1200 and a TSH of 6.8. It has been a year and my TSH bounces between 1.03-2. I feel just fine and there have been no side effects, though it would have been cool to drop a couple pounds! Was using Willow Pharmacy but I understand they have been purchased by Highland. I hope they honor the coupon!"

For Hashimoto's disease "It is 12/27/2022. I switched over from Synthroid 125 and now on Tirosint 125mcg. I think this medication doesn't work at all. I am getting extremely cold as it's winter time and my family is getting mad at me for having no energy. I'm going to switch bad to Synthroid when I see my endo again."

For TSH Suppression "I felt so good for 1, 2 months of taking Tirosint. My face looked shaper and had more energy also my eyelashes grew and my nails got stronger. I loved the medication . However it changed after 3 months. My head started spinning, I couldn't get up from my bed all day. I thought I got a cold or something. I would get dressed to try to start my day but I couldn't walk straight. One morning I felt really good and didn't have the spinning sensation then soon after I took tirosint, the feeling started again. I think this drug is not the long term solution."

For Hashimoto's disease "I have been taking NP Thyroid, Synthroid, and Levothyroxine for years, yet my weight continued to increase without any signs of weight loss. Although my eyebrows did grow back after taking NP Thyroid, it was not covered by my insurance. When I saw a new endocrinologist, they informed me that my T3 levels were too high and recommended that I switch to Tirosint. Unfortunately, Tirosint is also not covered by my insurance and costs $50.00 a month. I have been taking 175 mg of Tirosint for three months now, but have not noticed any significant changes. The only thing that has become lighter is my wallet. I have gained an additional 5 pounds, making my total weight gain since my Hashimoto diagnosis over 60 pounds and counting. Needless to say, I am not impressed. I plan to ask my doctor if I can switch to regular Levothyroxine or Synthroid pills at a lower cost of $5.00 to see if there is any noticeable difference. If this expensive medication had made any difference, I would gladly pay the 1000x increase in price not covered by my insurance, but unfortunately, I have noticed no improvement."

For Hashimoto's disease "The medication doesn't work anymore. I can take 4 to 5 pills of my Tirosint 125 and it literally does nothing. If I take my Synthroid it does something! Paying extra money for a medication that doesn't work."

For Underactive Thyroid "Had to increase my torosint this week to 50mcg, and I feel so sick and lethargic. I will not take it tomorrow. I was on only .25 much for over 2 years, but my TSH suddenly started fluctuating, jumped up to 14, then 22. So I began 50 mcg this week, and my body does not like it. I need to try a different brand for sure. This is awful."
