For Hashimoto's disease "Hypo/Hsahis - 42 years. I recently moved and I went to an Endocrinologist that looked at the last several years of labs and advised she could see I was not absorbing meds, so she put me on Tirosint. My TSH was 14.99. 3 weeks later, my TSH was .78. After that, depression, anxiety, irritability, mood swings and major bathroom issues around the clock for a month. Went to Mayo Clinic to figure this out and after 2 months on Tirosint, my TSH was 43.2. No one believes I am taking meds. Yes, I am. Mayo put me on NP Thyroid last week. Tirosint had already done it's damage to my gut. I ended up in the ER Monday with severe stomach pains/bloating, pressure, pain, bleeding. CT scan revealed ulcerative colitis. I took med as prescribed. Dr. that prescribed it to me called me and told me that she can CLEARLY see I stopped taking my medication over 2 weeks ago. No. I have no thyroid, my Hashis attacked it and it is no longer there. I am 100% dependent on thyroid replacement now."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "I have felt horrible for ten years since they removed my thyroid. I was told I didn't metabolize Synthroid properly. My doctor tried everything with negative results. I recently came across a published paper on the NIH website and it mentioned Tirosint. My doctor had never heard of it but she was willing to give it a try. That was two months ago and I have never felt better. I know the drug is expensive but there is a manufacturers coupon online. I ended up paying $35.00 but I would gladly pay full price. That's how good it is!!!!"

For Hashimoto's disease "Switched over from taking Levo 125 and now taking Tirosint 125. My main issues with Tirosint are chronic insomnia followed by a long list of other symptoms. Overall, I cannot even function on this medication as a person. I am currently getting insomnia on Tuesday morning, 27th June 2023, at 2:44 am. Here are some of my notes about how I feel on Tirosint right now, daily insomnia, awkward anxiety, depression, brain fog, feeling out-of-place in public, and feeling out-of-place at home. Multiple times, I've had panic attacks and have had to take a walk in my neighborhood just to shake off this dreadful feeling of doom. Also, I'm really cold all the time. Either this medication works TOO WELL OR IT DOESN'T WORK AT ALL. I took Tirosint 150mcg in the past, and it was enjoyable, but these current batches of Tirosint have caused me nothing but suffering. I've tried taking Tirosint at least 4 different times over the past 5 months. Stay with Synthroid or Levo."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "I loved it for the first month. Then, I developed, agonizing headaches, and chest pains. Had to go to the ER, four times in pain. They could not do anything. Seven months later, I am still in pain, and have to go to a gastro specialist, to find out what is wrong in my stomach. It is really scary. I think it gave my some kind of ulcers in my stomach."

For Hashimoto's disease "first of all there is coupons for this and i pick it up from walmart for 28.30. Search coupons free for Tirosint. I first tried a company which is a SCAM company. They charged me 50 dollars saying my medication was going to be 60 a month, too late I gave the scum bags my credit card and forget this bogus company out of Florida. The medication doesn't work for me, my hair falls out, I'm tired and I'm gaining weight, so I'm going back to a compound which worked for me in the past. Good luck everyone with this,.,, uggh"

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "I was on name brand synthroid from 2008 until 2019, my doctor switched me to tirosint thinking that I would have less heart palpitaions and better absorption. I was on 200mcg of synthroid, tsh was 0.01, I am now on 112mcg of tirosint with a tsh of 0.1. I gained a significant amount of weight so my endo dr added 5mcg of t3, I have not lost any of the weight. Since starting the tirosint, my weight has increased from 116lbs to 130-131. I exercise and move a lot and do watch what I eat, although I do allow sweets in moderation as I always have. I have also noticed an increase in hair loss, a lot of hair loss, and very dry hair, thankfully I have thick hair but the dryness is awful. Long story short, I don't believe tirosint is the right medication for me as I have gained so much weight and lost a large amount of hair, even with the added t3 which didn't help to change the weight issues. I will be requesting to go back to name brand synthroid with the added t3 to see if this helps."

For Underactive Thyroid "I have been on one form of hypothyroid meds for the last 20 years. I have used Tirosint for a year and half. The only thing that I can say for it is the doctor loves it. I hate it. I was hoping it would help with my fatigue, swelling, and forgetfulness. For Hashimoto's disease "I hope that the FDA is reviewing & testing Tirosint. Thought I was going to die after only taking a low dose of Tirosint for a few days. Chest pains, extreme disorientation, very sick, could not stop crying. The hospital did not know what to do. My pharmacist suggested drinking lots of water to get it out of me, which I did. Nightmare experience!!!"

For Hashimoto's disease "I've tried several different thyroid meds for hashimotos and this is the worst I've felt by far! I couldn't go to the bathroom couldn't eat, couldn't sleep, felt a lump in my throat, gained weight, was freezing cold and ended up in the ER because of my stomach pains. I switched back to Armour Thyroid but now need to see a gastroenterologist because my stomach is still suffering because of that dreaded Tirosint!!!!!"

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "I took my first dose of Tirosint in the morning and within a half hour my ears started ringing and I got a bad headache. By the time it was bedtime I felt so nervous and shaky that I never fell asleep. It was an awful experience. The next day I went back to my Synthroid."

For Underactive Thyroid "I was on Armore compound 90 mg for last 2 years but started on the new Armore formula and had trouble with too much T3 and went to hyperthyroid. My endocrinologist changed me to Tirosint and it is a gel cap form, which is easy on the system. They are individual packaged, don't know why. After a few weeks I had a flare of hives and itching and some hair loss, but now I seem to be doing great! I will be excited to test my blood work to see the levels in a few weeks. I am hoping it will help with my fertility. "

For Hashimoto's disease "Started this at the new year. My hair is falling out like crazzzzzy. It's been very distressing to see. It says it can cause hair loss but in time will correct itself. I really hope it stops soon! My numbers look good (or at least that is what my doctor thinks)"

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "Could not get my T3 or TSH regulated before this medicine and now it is stable. I take this and wait about 1 hour before I eat, so I haven't had any stomach problems. It is easier for the system to absorb since it is a gel cap. If your doctor is reluctant to try one of the dessicated thyroid medicines, this may be an alternative for you."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "Same as the comments below. Tirosint is the only thing that has worked for me and I’ve been on it for 10 years....but I just went to pick up my first prescription in 2019 and found that even after jumping through the hurdles of getting my insurance to entertain covering it, they will only cover $30 of the $150 per month. It’s too unaffordable so I have no idea what I’m going to do now. Shame on this company for increasing prices when healthcare and insurance is already a joke."

For Hashimoto's disease "I had been on synthroid for over 10 years for hypothyroidism. I was then diagnosed last year with Hashimotos. I felt like the Synthroid was no longer working for me. I saw a new Endocrinologist who gave me samples of Tirosint. I am a migraine sufferer and have been for years. I started getting headaches with the Tirosint that were different than my migraines. Not even two weeks after starting Tirosint I had a headache so bad I could not stop puking. I ended up at the ER. As they started an IV and pain/nausea meds they tell me they need to admit me to ICU. My heart rate was 166, and I was in AFIB. I have never had heart problems in my life, and no history in my family. Luckily the drugs they were giving me in my IV put my heart back in rhythm, or they were going to have to stop/restart my heart. Once released from the hospital I never took Tirosint again, and went back to Synthroid. I am now permanently on Cardizem and an aspirin a day."

For Hashimoto's disease "The synthroid 75 stopped working after 11 years. I went back to unothroid as my PPO plan said I had to document response. It was awful trying to get out of bed, paying attention to my tasks, remembering where I filed or put stuff. I felt like my self was in another universe. The PPO Plan approved Tirosint and gradually the cloud lifted. I've been on the same dose for over a year and I've done well although there are times that I think I could do better based on the medication level. My problem is that in 2019 the price went for from $515 for a three month supply to $1,423 for a three month supply. So I guess I have to go back to higher levels of unithroid. So freaking sad."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "Tirosint has changed my life. I have been sick and tired for more than a decade. I had both Hashimoto’s & Graves. Along with hyperparathyroidism that caused me to have constant kidney stones. All of this made life so miserable, I almost gave up. Eventually I had a TT with parathyroidectomy. For 2 years I fought with generic Levo & other thyroid replacement meds. I was so exhausted that I would fall asleep everywhere. My muscles ached like I had the flu, my breasts hurt like I was pregnant. I had migraines, constipation, my hair fell out & I eventually filed for disability. I couldn’t take the correct dose, because the meds made me feel worse. Then my PA suggested Tirosint. Within 2 weeks I felt 15 years younger. The symptoms were all gone. I slept normally, could do things I hadn’t done in 15 years & I got a job! I haven’t felt this good in so long that I want to tell EVERYONE about Tirosint. If you feel even slightly icky on something else, TRY IT! It is worth every penny!"

For Hashimoto's disease "I was started on levothyroxin, then Armour and my symptoms were worse than before medication. Tirosint literally gave me my life back. Then new insurance made me try naturethroid. Back to the same misery that plagued me the better part of the year. Whatever the cause or effect in chemistry I am immediately changing back. Brain fog, sore muscles lethargy, fatigue, constant hunger, weight gain. Never again will I try another medicine."

For Hashimoto's disease "I have hashimotos/hypothyroid and have been on Tirosint after being on synthroid for the first 7 weeks of my diagnosis. I have been on it for 5 years and absolutely love it. No reaction as there are no fillers or dyes like the other synthetic drugs. Most recently my Doctor added a little T3 and I have never felt better."

For Hashimoto's disease "I thought this med would be my silver bullet ! I was so relieved and excited to try it. 5 months in and no difference whatsoever! Even after multiple increases in dosage. Terribly disappointing as I had to fight to get it with insurance etc ect etc and it is not cheap ! I feel I am out of options as generic levo did nothing and I’ve also tried unithroid and armor, which was worse than all of them combined ! Armor is not worth all the praise it receives. I’m at a loss now. Gained over 25 MORE pounds on this tirosint!"

For Hashimoto's disease "I am on Tirosint and also Armour. I cannot sleep, and my fingernails stay horrible. My TSH fluctuates. I feel better when it's around 2.0; mine is 3.93. I fight fatigue and mentally lack ambition. I wonder if others have this same complaint."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "22 yrs since my cancer. Finally, I am doing well on Tirosint. Been on it for 8 weeks and 1 dosage change since my 6 wk TSH blood test. Feel better so far. I have been on many different dosages of synthriod and levothyroxine and there was never the same dosage for longer than 6 months. I am hopeful in finding the correct Tirosint dosage. Too many fillers in Synthriod/Levothyroxine. My new Endrocologist and last Endrocologist suggested Tirosint."

For Hashimoto's disease "I was on Levoxyl for 15 years and had terrible side effects of reflux, asthma symptoms. The doctors had to put me on all kinds of asthma and GERD medications. Turns out it was the Levoxyl causing all those symptoms. Been on Tirosint for about 2 years and now off all GERD and asthma medications. My endo did not believe there was a correlation, I don't see her anymore. I feel pretty good on Tirosint, my new endo just upped my dosage, so hopefully I'll start losing some of the weight I gained when old endo put me on a lower dose. All in all, I'd rather pay a higher price and feel better than have to deal with all the side effects from the Levoxyl."

For Hashimoto's disease "I was on levothyroxine for 10 years and it never did anything for me. My levels were never optimal and I continued to gain weight, be depressed, and waste money on a useless drug. So far with the Tirosint my only side effect is a slight headache. For the first time in my life my hormone levels are excellent, but my wallet is empty. Tirosint is ridiculously expensive. I use a compounding house which sells a month supply to me for $68 (Willow), as opposed to the $125 per month that CVS wanted. I feel the price is a disgrace and something needs to be done about this. I have insurance that does not cover this drug (BCBS). My doctor gave me a discount coupon for $35 a month but Blue Cross Blue Shield would not honor it. Ask your doc for this."

For Hashimoto's disease "I had a concern related to feeling bad and now I have a problem. The doctor recommended me Tirosint for 28 days. My results used to be optimal. I just got results and my TSH is 9. I never ever had more than 1 after being medicated for 12 years. Feeling really frustrated."
