"After kidney functions too high with amphotericin B, and an allergic reaction to itraconazole - Cresemba was prescribed to treat my disseminated histoplasmosis. Nausea and stomach pain are constant, strange saliva feelings and change of taste also present. Elevated liver enzymes but not so high to discontinue treatment. I’m 3 months into my treatment and wish I were finished. Hope it’s doing its job! I can’t comment on efficacy as of yet, so I’m rating it 50/50. Lol."

"Update: I successfully completed more than 6 months of treatment with this medication, and it did put me in remission. I still have some enlarged lymph nodes and a much smaller but stable long nodule left. Am doing CTs yearly to make sure nodes and nodule do not get any larger. So far it’s good. It’s been 1.5 years since I finished treatments. I will take the side effects in order to save my life, which this did."

"You cannot rate a specific antimycotic just like that. Factors including: species, organism sensitivity, duration and dose of treatment, patient tolerance, etc. are all contributory to drug selection. This is misleading data. Jay Trabin, MD, ISSVD, NVA specializing in lower genital tract disease."
