For Pain "I've had a really good experience with Hysingla ER. I have had debilitating sacroiliac (SI) joint sciatic nerve pain for 6 years. I've tried chiropractic care, acupuncture, massage therapy, physical therapy, injections, electroshock therapy, and Norco 10/325 4 times a day for the last 4 years. I did get some relief, but not enough to make my daily life enjoyable. It has been a struggle with pain daily, especially with three small children. Two months ago, my pain doctor recommended Hysingla ER to me (as a last resort before surgery), and I decided to give it a shot. I started at 20mg, then increased to 30mg after 4 weeks, and then to 40mg after another 4 weeks. I can't believe the difference in my life since starting Hysingla! I can take long walks again! I can go grocery shopping again!"

For Pain "I have had chronic lower back pain/degenerative disc disease for over 25 years, along with an L5 S1 discectomy. My pain and my condition continue to get worse with time. In the past, I have been on Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Fentanyl, and just most recently, OxyContin 30 mg time release, which I did not like at all. Even more recently, I was prescribed Hysingla 80mg time release. I have been taking it for two days now and I am amazed at how I feel when I wake up! No pain, and slight withdrawal, at which point I take a 10 mg oxycodone for breakthrough pain. It's been forever since I have woken up happy. I don't notice any side effects yet. I can say that it certainly does not last he 24 hrs... more like 12-14, and it takes a few hours to start working."

For Pain "I’ve had 9 surgeries since 2003. One total shoulder replacement that was done incorrectly and needs to be redone. Failed shoulder cuff on the other arm causes constant pain. Total hip, total knee. Three back surgeries! The last one in 2015 was a spinal fusion. I am in constant pain. I’ve tried everything: injections, PT, burning of the nerves—nothing helps! My pain doctor has me on Hysingla 40 mg, but it does nothing! Due to terrible upper gut ulcers from upper bowel obstruction (that was because when I had an emergency splenectomy, the surgeon tied a knot in my stomach!), I feel like all the doctors treat me like a druggie. It could be in my head, but I do get the feeling even from the pharmacy that I feel like a criminal, and I’ve never done anything wrong with these stupid meds that do nothing! This Hysingla is so expensive! Thanks for letting me rant."

For Pain "My doctor switched me to this, no reason given. I'm 58. I have had Renal Cell Cancer. I have 1 kidney left. Heart Disease, Diabetic, Discs are gone. I am not a surgical candidate due to my health. I have never taken illegal drugs nor have I failed a random urine test, pill count etc. But because of what other people do, I am grouped into that stereotype. It's embarrassing, humiliating. Not everyone is an addict or looking for drugs. But this is the worst drug I have ever tried."

For Pain "Was forced to switch from 4 to 6 Norco every 24 hrs. to Hysingla ER 30. I've gotten massive headaches every day in the past 6 wks since starting it, far less pain relief, itching, and swollen abdomen. My Dr. insists I need to stick with it."

For Pain "Tried morphine and Percocet for severe, intractable pain from injuries and surgery. Hysingla was then prescribed as those did not help. Hysingla did nothing for my pain and also made my head feel swimmy, and it’s very constipating, like severely. The doctor tried Norco, and I’m finally pain-free most of the day now, the first time in years. I really can’t say why Hysingla didn’t work because Norco is the same ingredient, but it didn’t work for me and Norco really does work for me. Like, amazingly. And I’ve never had to step up the dosage nor ever had addiction or withdrawals to pain medication. (Only Cymbalta for me was highly addictive and took me over a year to get off of it. Withdrawal was severe. Strange because they say opioids are not safe, but for me, they are, and antidepressants were not. Very strange.)"

For Pain "I've been a chronic pain patient for 10 plus years. My doctor wanted me to try Hysingla 100 mg even though my other medication was working the best out of all the others I've tried and been on. I took the first dose and I didn't seem to have any relief but I kept reminding myself what he and I discussed so I gave it another try. By this time my other medication is no longer in my system and now my pain is getting really bad so I called my doctor's office. I was advised that the Hysingla would peak at 15 hours of taking it and sometimes takes a while to build up. After a few days, my doctor took me off of it, and aspirin worked better than the Hysingla. I hope others don't have to suffer like I did."

For Pain "I have psoriatic arthritis, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, and fibromyalgia, all of which are very painful. I was on 7.5 Narco's, which actually worked. I have never abused medication, I take them only when needed. My pain was controlled. Then my doctor put me on Hysingla ER. The medication is worthless. I have no pain relief at all. When I told the doctor, the nurse red-flagged me as an addict."

For Pain "Too many warnings. I want a refund. There is plastic in these pills. They bounce. What the heck? Gave me a nasty flu-like headache. Do not waste your money. I don't know why the doctor wrote this crap. Never again."

For Pain "This medicine took forever to work at all and didn't touch my foot, back, knee, or migraine pain. What it did do is make me horribly nauseous, gave me hot sweats and shakes, made my hair fall out by the handful, and costs almost $200 for 30 pills. The prescription card only covers a month, but it was time and money wasted. What a horrible experience!"

For Pain "MS Contin 60 mg daily since 1998 with breakthrough pain combo with MSC-IR 30 mg 3x day. Some dizziness and nausea at times with MS Contin. Began Hysingla ER 60 mg daily 3 months ago with excellent results. No lumbar pain. 80% CSPINE pain reduction and NO side effects period. It does work around the clock. Chronic discogenic pain in lumbar since 1989 post 3 level lumbar laminectomy. PCDF C2-C5 and ACDF C5-C6 with 80% pain relief. Miracle Rx for me! NO addiction issues. Feel NO high with sustained release meds. Just wish the price will go down soon! Highly recommend for those with moderate-severe lumbar pain that tolerate opiates well. Also, like MSC, NO liver panels."

For Pain "I find that this medication is unable to relieve my severe back and neck pain. Not only that, I now have severe migraines with the use of Hysingla. I feel that more research was needed before releasing it. I cannot handle the increased pain which it has caused, along with dizziness and fatigue."

For Pain "I took one dose. I had no reduction in pain compared to Norco 10/325, 2-3 a day. In fact, I had more pain. Terrible side effects including a spike in blood pressure, headache, felt woozy, rapid pulse, and what I believe to be an anxiety attack. It was a nightmare, and all I could do was wait for it to finally wear off. I have impaired kidneys, so it took 36 hours to leave my system. Horrible experience!"

For Pain "After a year of trying different meds to control pain, I was put on Hysingla ER 40 with Roxy 15 for breakthrough. No medications will take all my pain away. Hysingla ER 40 with the Roxy 15 gives me controllable pain without the high feeling. It has allowed me to be more active."

For Pain "Changed from several pills a day to the new Hysingla ER. Was hoping it was something I would like better for just once a day. I do NOT like this medication. You cannot control the peaks due to it being time-released and it's unpredictable. Causes my eyes to feel heavy and hot. You cannot drink at all with this drug, it will cause the medication to be released too quickly, possible overdose. I don't like having no control and I was having breakthrough pain as well."

For Pain "Hysingla ER was a blessing for me! I have been dealing with severe chronic pain for 16 years. When the doctor first told me about it, I was very skeptical and at the point where I told the doctor I was ready to have surgery. I switched my pain medicine from OxyContin ER 20 mg, 2 times a day, and Norco 10 mg, 2 times a day for breakthrough pain. I was still watching the clock because I was still in pain, waiting for the next dose of pain relief. Now I only need 1 Hysingla ER 30 mg. Amazing! The pain does not control me, I never thought I would know what it felt like! If you're curious about Hysingla ER, ask your doctor. Severely herniated L5/S1 protrudes 7 mm and C3/4 protrudes 4-5 mm."

For Pain "30 mg was good, but 40 mg took my pain away, it was heaven. Except that 40 mg made me so tired and drowsy that all I did was sleep. I couldn't function, so that's not acceptable. I would go to bed at 7 PM and wake up at 4 PM the next day! So I'm going back to 30 mg with breakthrough meds. But here is the thing I can't figure out... I take up to 10-15 mg hydrocodone for breakthrough pain ON TOP of my Hysingla ER 30, but that doesn't make me sleepy, it actually kind of keeps me up at night. How bizarre is that? It's the same dosage but reacts completely different. That annoys me because the 40 worked perfectly!!! Except for the severe drowsiness. How can Hysingla ER 40 mg be so much more sedating than Hysingla ER 30 mg with 10-15 mg hydrocodone on top???"

For Pain "This has been the most costly, ineffective, pain-causing nightmare of my life! Not only did my insurance company deny its use, it actually caused more musculoskeletal pain than I already have! My joints feel like they have all been run over by a truck! The side effects are horrible! I only just figured out today, after being on this medication for the past 3 weeks, that the actual medication was making my pain worse! I have so much joint pain that I can barely get out of bed, not to mention the constant headache and severe fatigue! I will definitely not continue this medication, in fact, as of today, I am done and am going back to OxyContin. It may have a terrible reputation for being addictive, but at least no side effects!"

For Pain "I have chronic pain with my lower back, neck, and fibromyalgia. Currently took Norco 10/325 every 4 hrs. Dr started me on Hysingla ER 40mg a week ago, and I am miserable. Absolutely NO pain control whatsoever! I have called the doctor three times in the last week, he said to continue taking it as it's the same dose I was currently taking. It is NOT working for my pain at all. I take it first thing in the morning, and I am allowed one breakthrough Norco. Anyone else have the same issue? I am disgusted with my pain management doctor because he is NOT listening! Help."

For Pain "Before this drug, my pain was so extreme that I physically couldn't get out of bed or do any housework. I was miserable, to say the least. I went from taking 4 Percocet a day (5mg) to taking 20mg Hysingla, still with 1 or 2 Percocet for breakthrough pain. This medication, after a couple of days, has improved my life so much that I am still in shock from the relief. People only see the bad reviews on here and get scared like I did! I had no bad side effects, and every time I felt bad pain, shortly later it was relieved. And unlike some other '24-hour' extended-release drugs, this one really does last around the clock. Please, if you have relief with this medication, share your experience so others can see the good as well when they come to this website! I hope your experience is as successful as mine has been so far."

For Pain "I have horrible low back and hip problems. I have been taking Hysingla for several years now. It doesn't alleviate all of my pain, but it helps enough that I am able to function. Without Hysingla, it is difficult for me to sit, stand, and walk. I would recommend it to others. Keep in mind that everyone doesn't respond to medicines the same way, so they need to work with their doctor to find something that will work."

For Pain "Was taking 10 7.5/325 daily for severe autoimmune joint foot pain and nerve pain. 60 mg time release. 9 out of 10 days I'm fully functional like a normal mom. My only issue is IBS... if I take it in the AM and have my guts evacuate, I am forced to suffer with only my 3 daily allowed breakthrough pain medications. Then if I don't double up the breakthrough, the withdrawal symptoms cause my guts to keep dumping. I have slow digestion and it works about 19 to 22 hours. I imagine a regular digestive system would burn through this medicine before 24 hours. I tried it at night first and really enjoyed waking up without pain but had trouble the last 3 hours before the next dose. I would rather spend those wasted hours in bed each morning."

For Pain "I have herniated disks and did the usual, PT, spinal injections, Norco. I also have a liver condition and told the doctor I would like to try something easier on the liver, so Hysingla saved the day. Works like Norco minus the Tylenol. I wouldn't have walked again without it. Not sure about all the negative reviews, I think it works great!"

For Pain "My doctor just put me on Hysingla ER about a week ago. I take them faithfully every morning at 10 a.m., and every morning I wake up with withdrawals. I have to take 2-4 hydros besides the ER during the day for breakthrough pain. When I wake up in the morning, wow!!! My heart races, my palms are sweaty, extreme anxiety. I've been having to take a regular hydro in the mornings before the Hysingla ER just to tolerate the withdrawals and pain! Maybe being that it has only been going on 1 week since starting, that it's wearing off before the 24 hours. Not sure, but I know this never happened with OxyContin. Will have to wait and see, if not better by my next appointment, I am definitely changing medications."

For Pain "I have been constantly on pain medication for 6 years due to a wrecked back. I was on Hydrocodone 7.5 4x a day; it worked fine, but when you take the same meds, no matter what it is, over 6 years it doesn't work as well after a while. So I talked with my doctor and he decided I needed to try Hysingla 20 mg and assured me it would work great. Well, after two weeks of sleepless nights and loss of work, I had had it!! This was the biggest waste of my money and time. Not only is this crap costing twice as much with my insurance, but it does not work! I understand why doctors would want to try it; for fear of opiate abuse, but this is causing more and more people who are truly in need pain!!!"
