"I have now had these injections 2 times. They are a miracle. I used to be an avid runner and now bone to bone. Even with the injections, I don't run anymore but can bike and basically be without excruciating pain that I was in."

"Had my fourth and final shot 3 days ago. Walked 2.25 miles this morning, about 95% pain-free. I was told it does take time to get the full effect, and I sense it is really starting to kick in. Hopeful and grateful."

"I received my first set a year ago as I have no kneecap. Afterwards, I was able to do physical therapy. I was able to do exercise that I hadn't done since I was a child. This medication lasted a year. I started to feel the same pain about a month or so ago. I contacted my Dr., and we are doing it again. This injection has made such a difference in my life. I am very grateful for it."

"Had my third shot today; bi-lateral. I have to say I have seen a major improvement in both knees. I would wake up at night and go to turn over; my lower leg would not move and my upper leg (above the knee) would pop and grind on the joint. When this happens now, I can feel the upper and lower joints cushioned by the Orthovisc. I felt relief about 3 weeks after the first set of shots. I am confident that after the 3rd set of shots I will have the pain relief I am looking for. I would recommend to anyone to give this a try before you have total knee replacement."

"Had severe osteoarthritis in right ankle. Could barely walk. Took three Orthovisc shots over a 3-week period in ankle (paid out of pocket as this isn't FDA approved yet). Extremely effective. All pain went away for 6 months."

"As a 64-year-old female, I was having severe pain and stiffness in both knees due to advanced osteoarthritis. Ortho doc recommended a series of 4 weekly Orthovisc injections in both knees. For me, the shots were very painful. There was no improvement until after the 3rd week. I am now 1 week post the 4th and final shots and have greatly decreased pain. I now can exercise regularly without pain. The only difficulty I still have is walking up and down stairs. I highly recommend the Orthovisc injection treatment."

"I had my first of three injections of Orthovisc yesterday (1/14/16) into my left knee. The physician numbed the skin and injected the lubricant. I did not experience any discomfort. The day after the injection, I have not experienced any negative side effects. The overall effectiveness of Orthovisc is still up in the air, but I'm eager to keep moving forward with the treatment. I will post again after completing the three injections."

"I was in so much pain from my knees with arthritis, bone rubbing on bone - I had my first set of injections in April. It took a month or so to really feel the effects. No more pain and swelling when standing and doing house cleaning, etc. I had the second set 6 months later. I can go up and down stairs. I can do housework, gardening, and shopping with minimal pain. Best thing I ever did for myself."

"My knees were so bad I could barely walk around the office without limping. I had cortisone shots in both knees, which helped, but the Orthovisc treatment has been remarkable. A very noticeable improvement: I am much more able to walk, stay on my feet for hours, work in the yard, etc. As many others have commented, the first injections (one in each knee) were painful and left me limping. The three remaining injections, however, were painless. I don't know how long the impact will last, but so far, so good. The only downside is the cost. I have a high-deductible plan, and I ended up paying over $1,000 for the treatment. I hope I do not have to do this more than once a year at the most."

"Just had the first injection (both knees) for the third series of Orthovisc. The first injection is always the worst-more painful, and I feel lazy the remainder of the day. I recommend getting the shots at the end of the day versus first thing in the morning if you can. The shots have been amazing for me. I am able to ski, ride my dirt bike, and hike with very little, if any, discomfort the majority of the time. Walking up and down stairs is no longer an excruciating experience."

"Just had two injections, one in each knee. The first of four injections. I am not feeling any pain at the moment, but they say this is only temporary, that it will take all four injections for the best relief. I will say that I only felt a slight prick of the needle and felt no pain whatsoever. Can't wait for the other three."

"I have arthritis in both shoulders. It's a wear-and-tear issue as I'm 68 years old and have been exercising fanatically for 50 years. My orthopedic doctor recommended Orthovisc injections, and I have had great results. I wholeheartedly recommend Orthovisc. Some studies have shown that people facing replacement issues have been able to put off the surgery or even avoid it altogether when following a regimen of two series a year with Orthovisc."

"I was just diagnosed with osteoarthritis and had surgery to fix meniscus tear. Osteoarthritis is bone on bone, tibia and femur, on the outside of my left knee. Probably due to trauma playing soccer. I am a 45-year-old woman. I played soccer since 3rd grade, high school, college, and after. Since 2000, I've mainly only run. January 22, 2014, was my surgery. Just over a month after my surgery, I had my first injection. I did not say anything to anyone because I was surprised at how much better the knee felt. Normally, just walking, I would have sharp pain on the outside of the knee. After the shot, I did not feel this. On day two after the shot, I walked for exercise over 3 miles and my knee felt great. I hope the next 2 injections go just as well and hope this pain-free feeling lasts."

"I got diagnosed with chondromalacia in both knees 7 years ago. Fast forward to the present, it's now osteoarthritis in both knees and clearly visible on x-ray. I got the Orthovisc shots for the first time this month. The shots are rather unpleasant, sure, but they are totally worth it. Your knees will be rather sore for the next 24 hours, but it's tolerable. I'm extremely pleased with the results. I had been taking Voltaren for a few years, and that only alleviated the worst of the symptoms. The stiffness from sitting long periods or waking up in the morning is almost completely gone. Stairs no longer hurt. I still have to ice my knees and experience some stiffness after workouts. Nothing will bring my old knees back, I guess."

"At age 72, I had four weekly shots of Orthovisc on both bone-to-bone knees. During the first 45 minutes after injection, the knees feel like brand new again. Then, it wears off. But... after two weeks upon completion of the four shots, my knees feel wonderful. An amazing treatment, give it some time to really start working."

"Six months ago, a doctor injected Euflexxa. My knee was sore for four months. In the fifth month, my knee got really bad, pain and swelling. A month later, the doctor started injecting Orthovisc. On the first injection, it felt like the doctor injected a knee, the inflammation went down and the pain went down 70%. Shot number two hurt, and I was swollen and had pain for three days. The third shot didn't hurt, and it was like the last piece of a puzzle. My knee feels amazing. Will definitely have these ones again. Let's see how long they will last."

"I have had all 3 shots, and my knees feel good, no pain. The shots were spread out 3 weeks in a row, the 2nd week it hurt some, but not as bad as the knee pain I had. I can tell you how nice it is not to have pain."

"I am a 72-year-old woman, previously very active - hiking daily, doing yoga daily. I fell and tore meniscus in three places. Four doctors have told me to do knee replacements, however, I have chosen to do Orthovisc - 4 shots every 6 months. As long as I do strengthening exercises, I am 90% pain-free, however, I cannot hike hills or mountains, and yoga is limited. I can swim and cycle. Since I know many with complications from knee surgeries, I will continue on this route. Mind you, I lead a very full life and am on my feet at least 9 hours a day."

"38-year-old male with a history of knee pain and troubles. Osgood-Schlatter disease with both knees from age 14. Have had constant aches and pains for the past three years. Aleve no help, Mobic no help. Cortisone shots helped, but I was interested in something that would help without accelerating the damage. I've been through my three shots of Orthovisc in each knee, the last one a week ago. The difference is night and day. No constant ache, no warm knees. Things are great so far."

"I had Supartz shots two years ago with great success. I just had two of three of Orthovisc, and so far, my knees feel great. I hope Orthovisc lasts as long as Supartz. I would highly recommend both products."

"I've had two of the three injections so far. After the first one last week, my knees were so noisy. They snapped, crackled, and popped when moving. I got the second one yesterday, and these felt a lot fuller, and I felt unsteady walking. I have had pain relief, but have also had a few times when I felt a sharper pain when walking uphill. Not sure what that means or why yet. Maybe it's all part of my knee being more full of fluid and not having the healthy structures to rely on to keep it in place properly."

"Have osteoarthritis in both shoulders. Have received 3 sets of injections over 24 months, 6 months apart, with no side effects. Excellent benefit after the shot, diminishing proportionally over the period. Decided to stop weight lifting after the last shot to see what would happen (age 67) and found the pain has not returned. It has been 8 months now, and the pain level is quite tolerable with NSAIDs. Will start a moderate exercise program next week to determine what level will be an acceptable compromise to inactivity."

"My first injection was easy peasy, the second injection, easy peasy. I'm currently on the 3rd injection, and it has been a killer. It feels like the space in between my bone was separating, it was an odd, painful feeling and hurts 2 days later. I have swelling on top of my knee and around the injection site. However, this knee has been a mess since my arthroscopic surgery last year, so this could have something to do with excessive swelling. I'm hoping this will give me my life back. UPDATE: I had to do the 4th injection a week later than planned and, oh my gosh, what a godsend! This injection felt like my 1st injection (easy peasy). I highly recommend taking a week break between the 3rd and 4th injections. My ortho told me I won't see real benefit for several weeks. I currently can walk without excruciating pain."

"I am in my mid 50s and very active, participating in 4-5 triathlon events per year, including the Ironman 70.3. Severe knee pain after a recent 1/2 marathon was eased by the first of four scheduled injections aimed at relieving stress behind the kneecap from arthritis. So far, after one treatment, so good; back to running pain-free!"
