"In my late 20s - Bought this thinking it would be a better alternative to estrogen cream, plus the convenience of dosed applications. Used it once, at night. The next day, my vagina was drier than a desert, and I had to use soap to lubricate my vagina to try to pull out the white chunks everyone else is talking about. Also noticed I had blood-tinged discharge, but at the time didn't think too much of it - now I see it's clearly common among users after reading these experiences on here! Won't ever use this again!"

"After inserting the cream last night, I knew straight away something was wrong, started to panic a bit but just went to bed to try and calm down. This morning, I have severe cramps like period pains and a white discharge. I wish I hadn’t bought this, I’m in agony! Will portion help?"

"I have been using Replens for a little over a year. It works, but for the first time ever, I have had an unsatisfactory Pap. They were unable to get a satisfactory test due to excessive lubricant. I did not use it for a week prior to my test. Not sure if I will continue with the product."

"It felt moisturizing at the beginning, but after a few weeks I got some mild cramps accompanied by a black discharge. I went to see several doctors, and they were all shocked because they found pieces of a black silicone-looking substance. The last one tried to manually remove it. I got a PAP smear, two ultrasounds, and they took samples to check if I have an infection, and they couldn’t find anything. I’m about to get a biopsy and a hysteroscopy just in case. I was so worried until I found all the reviews online. How is it even possible that a product like that is on the market and even the doctors are clueless about it?"

"I've used Replens a few times, and everything was OK, but I recently used the product, and the discharge I saw was very unpleasant, the white lumpy stuff, ugh, just horrible. I'll just leave this product alone."

"Postmenopausal, 4 years since the last period. Used a box of pre-filled Replens for less than a month. Had the whitish/yellow discharge others describe. Then, tried the Replens that you fill the provided syringe with. Noticed little specks of brown that I thought were blood. Scared the 'blank' out of me. Caused me to panic and search the web, only to find other women experienced the same postmenopausal issue. The brown specks/blood discharge should be listed on the label so that a person doesn't panic. The menopausal anxiety and stress I already have skyrocketed when I saw blood-like specks. Will stop using the product as a result."

"Used this just once, and it might have relieved some dryness, but 2 days after using, experienced severe cramping, itching, and swelling, and white clumps coming out. Resorted to trying to rinse it out and using my finger to scoop some of the disgusting clumps out. Will never use this product again, remaining tubes now in the bin."

"I thought that this product was going to be a ‘sex-life-saver,’ and at first, that’s what it was. But when I started to notice what looked like bits of toilet paper collecting in my vagina, I immediately stopped using it. This is not ‘dead skin cells sloughing off’ as the product suggests. This is their moisturizing gel morphing into some kind of white, opaque residue with a wet-paper consistency. Which can’t be good. I just wish there was something else out there that dealt with vaginal dryness without this nasty result. Definitely pass on this!"

"It sounds like we are all having similar reactions to this product. I am postmenopausal and a breast cancer survivor, so hormones are not an option. I took Replens at the suggestion of my gynecologist. With the first two doses, I had the brown discharge, then the third dose gave me uterine cramping! I was worried about what was going on. How does this product cause cramping if it is not hormonal? I am glad I found this site, but I am ceasing use of this product! Not a good use of my money and doesn’t seem good for my health!"

"The morning afterward, I had a small rash on my groin. By that night, I had a large rash on my groin and then a couple on my side. At about 7 pm, my face started getting blotchy, which continued all night, with a swollen upper lip. I tried an antihistamine and a 1% topical steroid. I went to the doctor and was prescribed a Medrol dose pack. I will not use it again."

"After menopause, I experienced extreme vaginal dryness. I was put on a hormone cream but did not do well with it. I started using Replens, and it works great for me. I wish, though, you could make one that is only used once a week!"

"The plastic reusable application is sharp at the round edges and causes bleeding when it scrapes me on insertion - but it is all I can get on NHS repeat prescription (the softer single-use applicators are too expensive for NHS). The manufacturer should know that we use this to minimize discomfort when vaginal walls thin, so sharp edges are no good. I have reported this to the manufacturer several times, but they just say use a softer single-use applicator! Men would not put up with this product. It is messy; it discharges all the time after use for a few days until the next application; panty liners are a must and a nuisance - and not environmentally friendly. I have used Replens for several years post-hysterectomy as estrogen cream is contraindicated for me. Loathe it."

"During 10 months of use, I started to experience severe bloating over the past 2 months, some burning, swelling, and just recently cramping on and off. Also, white discharge is more frequent. I too wish I had read these comments sooner. I used it yesterday and will never use it again. The product needs to be improved or taken off the market. I also thought that I had a UTI a while back, and other times, and tested negative with urinalysis and culture each time. I'll continue with external gel HRT."

"My husband and I used this once, and I had a severe reaction. I had severe pain, burning, soreness, blisters, fever, and swelling. To make matters worse, I also ended up with BV since my pH was now off. I would rate a 0, but not an option."

"I don't usually give reviews so quickly after starting a product. I am experiencing the 'white chunks' in small amounts. But it's the dead skin cells. I also saw a strip of brown tissue. Once again, it's the action of Replens. It's actually replenishing my honeypot through skin turnover. The vulva gel and lubrication is the most natural I’ve had since my pre-menopausal years. I am talking about naturally moist. As if I have tons of estrogen. I love the feel and the action of Replens, thus far. It is also more affordable than another moisturizer brand that I tried prior to Replens. I woke up and my vulva was still moist. My honeypot feels 25 again. I just hope and pray that I can continue using Replens. Thank you for giving that Post Meno WAP! I love it. I purchased all three of the products. You should do the same."

"I get intense burning from the usage of Replens and bad cramps. My cramps aren't uterine because I had a hysterectomy years ago, so I know these cramps are actually from the burning inside my vagina, which mimics period cramps. These symptoms aren't something someone would expect from a product that is supposed to be helpful. It doesn't work well for my vaginal dryness either. I'm throwing the rest of the box out, which makes me mad because it's way overpriced. I don't trust this product."
