Keflex (cephalexin) for Bacterial Infection "I had a really bad cold and viral bronchitis and I ended up with nasal cellulitis of all things (infection in my nose and on my face). I took this medication and on day three, it was clearing up nicely and by day 5 the infection is gone. I had virtually no side-effects other than sleepiness, but I think that's normal when you're fighting an infection. I took 500 mg x 4 times a day and I had no stomach or intestinal issues at all. It was great."

Keflex (cephalexin) for Bladder Infection "Cystitis for what seems forever. Take Keflex 500mg, when an attack occurs. Told later by chemist who knew how often I get cystitis, could go on preventative 250mg daily so saw Dr. who said OK. After being months free, Dr said no, go off it for a while. Three weeks later, worst dose of Cystitis ever. Luckily have Keflex on hand so along with Ural, will be seeing Dr. very soon. What's the risk of being on a preventative dose every day?"

For Bacterial Infection "Basically, I got strep throat and the first several days on cephalexin were fine except for a bit of a stomach ache. Then, soon after, my body temperature dropped to 94.3 and I got extreme vertigo. Kept having worrying empty life feelings . Cephalexin works a little too well, not only gets rid of the bacteria but almost getting rid of the human in the process."

For Bacterial Infection "I get impetigo in/on my nose practically every year for the past few years which is odd because I am not a child nor do I come in contact with any. I’ve taken cephalexin four or five times for this infection and never had any evident symptoms, I thought it worked great actually. However, this past time I suddenly got terrible anxiety that ruined my life for about a week. Shaking, racing thoughts, the whole deal. The worst I’ve ever had- I couldn’t even watch TV alone at home without having to fight it off. Something inside of me told me to look up reviews for the medication and I actually teared up reading that other people experienced similar things and this wasn’t just my life now. I stopped taking the medication early and feel almost back to normal already. I hope this helps someone!"

For Kidney Infections "Okay so now after nearly two weeks of getting diagnosed with a Kidney Infection and of me coming here to read the reviews (a lot of me crying) of how it works for everyone else. here is mine. I was taking one cephalexin pill 500 mg twice a day for 14 days I am on day 13; I didn’t start feeling better until day 4 which scared me because it seem that I was healing slower than others. I still had kidney pain at day 10 but now I don’t. This pill after 5 day’s made me sleepy and nauseous but that’s about it. I did find that on day 12 I started to pee out blood again but I knew it came from vagina by the discharge with it so I ended up getting BV with this pill which doesn’t surprise me it is antibiotic. So please know you may not feel better until four of five days every one heals differently. I wish you a speedy recovery :)"

Keflex (cephalexin) for Bacterial Infection "Took it for 7 days for a tooth infection, took the pain away on the 3rd day, no adverse reactions. Had a reaction to Bactrim so I was hesitant to take antibiotics, however I'm confident in Keflex now. Stop stressing and take it."

For Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "Took cephalexin 4 times a day, 500 mgs a dose, for about two weeks for a dermal cyst. It effect was not immediate, but by the third I started to see real improvement. Within ten days it had almost completely vanished. BUT OH DID I FEEL TERRIBLE... I had heard that "drowsiness" was a "rare" side effect of this drug, at least according to the drug company, who during their trials must have enrolled some other species that just looked human to study, because almost EVERYONE who takes this feels like a truck almost ran over them.. they have experienced real sedation, dizziness, brain fog, irritability, a blocking of the effects of antidepressants, weakness etc I had most of these, and for several days AFTER taking it, I still felt out of sorts.... I will never take this drug again as I feel like I lost two weeks of my life because of a minor problem that could have been treated with something just as effective but not as horrible."

For Bladder Infection "I am very sensitive to antibiotics. Bactrim makes me nauseous, gives me a rapid heart beat, and makes me feel like I have a fever. Cephalexin on the other hand, doesn't make me feel sick at all. The only thing it really does it make me EXHAUSTED for the first 1-3 hours after taking the dose, and makes me feel high during that time. Not sure if that is a good or bad thing. However, if I stand up during this 1-3 hour time frame, I do get a little dizzy and slightly nauseous, but it's nothing. Overall, good medicine."

For Upper Respiratory Tract Infection "As someone who has suffered with chronic bronchitis most of my adult life, have used CEPHALEXIN for these URTI for years, it has & is working for me when things looked really bad; usually in just a few days I am on the mend and with in a week or so the nasty cough is gone. The stuff saved me from being admitted into the Hospital yet once again."

Keflex (cephalexin) for Bladder Infection "Took 500mg dose of Keflex twice a day for one week - I had a UTI. Side effects were diarrhea, headaches, felt depressed, upset stomach & nausea. Now I’m having stomach cramping. Just hope the urinary tract infection I had is gone after taking this strong antibiotic."

Keflex (cephalexin) for Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "Had an ingrown toenail infection. Was given 500mg keflex taken 4 times a day for 7 days. It is working and I have no pain in my toe. However... so far I've had diarrhea, stomach pain, tiredness and weakness, dizzy spells, yellow skin, loss of appetite, nauseous, red scratchy eyes. So most of the usual stuff. The long and short of it is my toe will be healed as long as I can deal with the side effects for a few more days."

For Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "I am writing this review because Cephalexin has saved my life a number of times and while that does not mean it will necessarily do the same for you, please know that despite all the negative stories you will read here to which you must pay attention as well, I am still here on this earth as a result of having taken it and continue to take it when necessary. Thank God it DOES work for some."

For Upper Respiratory Tract Infection "After suffering with a respiratory tract infection for well over a year(which doctors kept swearing was viral and nothing they could do except refill my athsma meds since the coughing fits caused athsma attacks) I was actually prescribed this for a urinary tract infection in early pregnancy and my respiratory tract infection is almost non existent after 3 days!"

For Bladder Infection "Been taking this medication everyday for about a year now as I have renal failure and recurrent urinary tract infection problems. No side effects at all for me. However, if I forget to take it one day I will get a infection nearly instantly so it's obviously working well."

For Bacterial Infection "Cephalexin might be one of the best antibiotics I have ever taken. I was prescribed 500mg 3x a day for 7 days for an infected lymph node (? The doc didn't really explain, but the lymph node in my groin was swollen to the size of a grape and SO painful I could barely walk. He said it was abcessed) By the 5th dose, almost all of the pain had subsided, swelling was down and I had ZERO side effects. Usually I am very sensitive to antibiotics so I was sure to take the pills on a full stomach. I also get nervous taking any type of medication because of the potential stomach upsets, as I am absolutely terrified of throwing up. But, currently on day 4 - No complaints what so ever. Very happy with how it is working so far :)"

Keflex (cephalexin) for Bacterial Infection "I went to the emergency room for a tooth abscess and they prescribed me keflex 500mg four times a day for 10 days. I have had zero side effects. It worked fast and took the infection right away. I had a little sore throat the whole 7 days but I was sneezing before I took the keflex so it probably a virus or allergies. My throat looks fine. But highly recommend Keflex cause there are barely any side effects."

For Bladder Infection "Cephalexin is the only anti biotic that clears UTI'S for me. The GP's always tell me to try others but inevitably just prolong my infection until I finally get cephalexin. No noticeable side effects for me and always do the job. I literally cry with relief when I get these as I know within 24hrs I can get on with my life!"

Keflex (cephalexin) for Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "Keflex 500 mg 3 times a day is slowly but surely getting rid of my folliculitis. It took about 3 days for the infection to stop oozing, another 2 days later it has almost completely dried up. No discernible side effects for me."

Keflex (cephalexin) for Bladder Infection "I have suffered with reoccurring bladder infections or symptoms of bladder infections for the past 7 years without any relief up until this past April 2014 when I was referred to a specialist by my urologist who himself could not help me. I was prescribed Keflex by this specialist and it has seemed to be the miracle I have been needing up until a month ago when my symptoms reappeared. Not sure if my body has become immune to the Keflex but I am back suffering with on again off again symptoms making my life miserable."

For Bladder Infection "I have urine infection with pain and blood . Doctor gave Keflex 500mg 3 times per day on 7 day course. After the third tablet on first day, the pain is almost gone and there is no more blood. Very happy and will continue to finish the whole course 7 days. Keflex works very well for me."

Keflex (cephalexin) for Bacterial Infection "Very effective antibiotic on two (2) separate events for oral abscess! Usually a straight Penicillin customer, I am & Doc prefers Amoxicillin (not efficacious for me). Compromise medicine: Keflex is the most foul-smelling thing I ever wanted to swallow because it works... so hold your breath!"

Keflex (cephalexin) for Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "Prescribed 500 mg 4x a day for 10 days for an infected ingrown hair on my bikini line. I've gotten lots of ingrown hair infections in the past and usually just let them run their course, but taking this was SO much better! Cleared up by day 4, absolutely no side effects, even drinking alcohol went well. Only giving it a 9 because waking up to take it every 6 hours was very annoying, especially once it seemed to have gotten better."

For Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "Wow. Cleared up a very nasty post-surgery infection. 0 side effects. As others have said, I think you see more negative posts than positive, because those of us without complications are lucky to move forward. Best wishes to everyone with their issues."

For Bacterial Infection "I was prescribed 500mg of Cephalexin for a staph infection on my face. I took 4 pills a day for 2 weeks. I was surprised to come on this site and find some bad reviews and side effects because my experience with this medication has been phenomenal! My bacterial infection cleared up within days! I had no side effects, and I am not having any problems with diarrhea (though if you do have this problem, you can take something with the pill). The medication definitely smells bad haha, but I learned that that is completely normal. It's doesn't really "taste" like anything because you just drink it with water and swallow it anyways. I definitely recommend Cephalexin."

Keflex (cephalexin) for Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "I had to take a double dosage of Keflex. I weigh about 115lbs and had to take Keflex 500mg 4 times a day for 10 days. I didn't have any issues with side effects or drinking alcohol while on it. It was prescribed as a precaution after I accidentally got a cut on my leg that required 13 stitches. The only dissatisfactory attribute was the horrid sulfur smell of the capsules."
