For Breast Cancer, Metastatic "I am on my 2nd week of my first cycle of capecitabine and I'm still waiting for side effects. I have none so far. I have this fear of it not working as I feel fine and thinking they have given me a placebo haha. My breast cancer has metastasized to some lymph nodes in my chest wall - luckily has not gone anywhere else. I'm hoping I feel this way for the whole 24 week course."

For Breast Cancer, Metastatic "First cycle was okay. 2nd cycle quickly went downhill. I am so tired, visual problems, headache, dizziness, unsteady when walking, I even passed out on this. I went to answer the phone and woke up on the floor. I have messaged oncology about this. I have stopped taking the med. I would give it a 0 out of 10. It is just too debilitating. I am 76, but I am very sensitive to drugs. I am hoping they have something less debilitating."

"I'm a 36-year-old female. I was diagnosed with cancer of the gallbladder in June 2024 after a laparoscopic surgery for stones in the gallbladder. They found an incidental finding, a 1.5 cm tumor, adenocarcinoma. In September, I had a lymphadenectomy and liver resection. A big 30 cm incision in my abdomen. Started Xeloda (3000 per day) in October. The first weeks had a bad skin reaction in my face (redness), fatigue, zzz, thirsty all the time, dizziness, mild headaches, fever, gained weight. Now I'm on my 6th cycle, very mild symptoms at the beginning of each cycle, sleeping a lot, not too much hunger sensation, lost a couple of pounds, skin on hands and feet is okay, no peeling. Next scan in March."

"My mum was diagnosed with rectal cancer in the 2nd stage. No mets, no local lymph nodes, but the tumor size is quite large. She was very tired and had zero energy before her treatment started. A combination of targeted radiation and capecitabine 500 mg twice daily. It was a long course, 28 days. During the treatment, she was feeling just a little fatigued. But by the end of the cycle, last week, she felt really well. She started eating well, her bowel movement improved, and most of her initial symptoms came down. There was no hair loss, either. So, yes, this medicine works well. Her surgery has not been done yet. Will know the tumor size once CT is done. Fingers crossed."

For Breast Cancer "On 2nd course. So far, okay. Diarrhea x1. I was on Orserdu. That didn't work. I felt well for about 4 months. I think I had a mild stroke on that. Ibrance only worked for a few months. I was on Pikray. That worked for at least 27 months, especially since it was only to work on average 8.3. I do not have an HER2 in my diagnosis. I'm HR positive, low PR positive. So my options are limited now. Any ideas."

For Breast Cancer "My mom was hospitalized three days after taking a low dose of this poison. Even before she started, she was not really eating and drinking (receiving hydration IVs three days a week). Her liver was so swollen that she could barely swallow her tiny pain pills every four hours. We had to be creative - using honey and Jell-O to keep pills from getting stuck in her throat. I’m guessing that this drug is intended for younger or healthier people, and that in my mom’s case, it probably robbed her of some precious time with her family. She is so much weaker now than before."
