My 87 year old mother was given a double dose of Metroprolol, by mistake? She didn't sleep well that night, but she regained her pill routine the next day. Is that ok?
What should you do if you took too many Metroprolol pills? Continue routine the next day?

Hi, i agree, i have a weekly pill box, i've bought one for my dad also now, as we take so many medications, and it is easy to miss a dose, especially if you are out & about. Regarding Metoprolol, I have copied this information from Drugs.com:
"What happens if I miss a dose? Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
I wanted to add this also just in case of mistakes:
"What happens if I overdose? Seek emergency medical attention or call the Poison Help line at 1-800-222-1222.
Overdose symptoms may include slow or uneven heartbeats, shortness of breath, bluish-colored fingernails, dizziness, weakness, or fainting".
I would have watched her blood pressure. If it was not to low the next day I'd then take it. Since she has already been thru it she'll be ok. Why not get a weekly pill box for her, then mistakes like thus won't happen. Walmart had then for very reasonable prices.
