Hi ChevyCruze
Unless you're instructed by a pharmacist or your doctor it really doesn't matter when you take Metoprolol ER.
What is important is that you take Metoprolol ER at the same time every day. Because you're taking the ER (extended release) tablet it's best to take the medication at the same time of day every day.
Whether you choose to take it with or without food is up to you unless otherwise instructed by your doctor.
