Probation drug testing
Metoprolol is in a group of drugs called beta-blockers. Beta-blockers affect the heart and circulation (blood flow through arteries and veins).
Metoprolol is used to treat angina (chest pain) and hypertension (high blood pressure). It is also used to treat or prevent heart attack.
If this medication is prescribed to you and it is not a controlled substance, I'm just wondering what you may be worried about? I could do a little more research on this medication to see if it can cause a false positive for something. But the lab doing the testing would (or should) know if this is the case.
I believe this drug does cause false positive... i am a non drug user, never used in my life and back in dec 2010 i tested "positive" for opiates ... sooo ... knowing that i had not consumed anything different other than that medication I have to believe that yes it does cause a false positive!
