It might delete stomach acid ask doctor
Well, maybe but I wouldn't do it until you call a pharmacist. The problem is antacids interfere with absorption. When you take an antacid it changes the PH in your stomach so some pills don't break down and absorb correctly so you end up passing it before you can get your dose into your blood. So don't do it until you can get some confirmation. I don't know what kind of pills you're on, the dose, etc. so I can't tell you for sure but it's a risk that you shouldn't take.
I'm on clonazapam, Zonisamide, Lamotragine, Trileptal. That is what I thought if you have heart burnt you need to live with it while you take your medication for seizures. After you have enough time for the medication to get in your blood to work then you can takes little. Doing it together gets you in trouble. If you can live with out acid reflex medication then do so. You should definitely talk to a doctor if acid reflux won't go away. While your doing all this I would be very careful in what you do in case it does cause a seizure. I used to take tums at least two hours after my seizure medication only if my heat burn was bad enough that I had to do something. I had had problems this week. Then I took tums this week 15 min before my seizure medication and had problems. I now understand what was said that the seizure medication does not get absorbed and passes through that way. I will talk to my doctor if my heart burn comes back and won't go away.
He may have a way of helping me. Right now I have none and no problems. I will learn the foods that cause heart burn for me and change my diet so I don't eat them and find other things to eat.
Thanks for telling me that anti-acid medication helps you not to absorb other medication you take like seizure medication.
because this medication can lower your appetite thus increasing stomach acid that might be the culprit. you might need a prescription like Protonix or OTC Nexium at least 40mg.
I encountered unexplained vomiting untll the doctors figured it out especially when the other lower my protonix to 20mg when I was on Ozempic
I just saw my internist due to problems I was having since taking 300mg of Zonisamide at bedtime
-vomiting and lowered appetite
-already taking Protonix 40mg max dose daily
-doctor just prescribed Sucralfate 1GM 2 times a day to lower the acid more
