Xulane - Can I cover my patch with a bandaid? If not then why?

Because you have broken the contact skin to transdermal gel/medication patch adhesive. It simply will not work and you run the risk of pregnancy or an early precipitated period. Good skin preparation is essential with a patch as is keeping it away from high clothing friction areas.
If you just want to cover it with a band aid to hide it there is no reason why you should not. Just make sure you don't peel off the patch with the band aid.
