I already take 300mg of effexor every day. Just some days I need more medicine than other days if I am travelling rough.
Thankyou Sasha
Hi, just wondering if you can take Lyrica just when you need it or do you have to take it regularly?

GOOD MORNING FROM OUR SUNNY SUNSHINE COAST, AUSTRALIA.
CAN I SUGGEST THAT YOU ASK FOR A PRINT OUT, FROM YOUR PHAMACY NEXT TIME YOU GO, OR LOOK UP SYMPTOMS CAUSED BY TAKING LYRICA.
my CHEMIST TOLD ME that dry sore eyes were caused by LYRICA.
IF YOU FEEL YOU DON'T NEED LYRICA EVERY DAY, THEN ASK YOUR DOCTOR FOR AN ALTERNATIVE. WHY TAKE LYRICA WHEN IT CAUSES MORE PROBLEMS & HAS SIDE EFFECTS.
I AM NOW TAKING ENDEP.
WHEN I STOPPED TAKING LYRICA IT CAUSED ME MORE PAIN, BUT NOW I DON'T HAVE THE FUZZY HEAD, REPEAT WHAT I SAY, GET CONFUSED WITH WORDS, FEEL DEPRESSED AND BEST OF ALL, MY EYE SIGHT IS IMPROVING & I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO THREAD NEEDLE.
I SHOULD NOT BE IN THIS SIGHT ANY MORE AS I "HATE" LYRICA, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT ROBBED ME OF MANY YEARS.
MAYBE THERE IS SOMEONE THAT NEEDS SUPPORT TO GET OFF IT.
MAY TODAY BRING YOU A GOOD DAY WITH NO PAIN, LOVE, FRIENDSHIP & CAN I ASK YOU TO BE KIND TO YOURSELF & MAKE A GOAL TO DO SOME THINK JUST FOR YOU.
I've taken it as needed this year. It is great for my anxiety, but a lot of my anxiety is social-based. Lyrica makes me chattier and gets rid of my inhibitions. I only take a low dose, though. 75mg or 100mg. Anything more and I'm completely dopey. 75mg has it's cognitive effects as well, but I imagine that my anxiety/depression affects it worse.
According to my doctor, Lyrica has to build up in your system to actually be effective so just taking it sporadically won't help you. I'd speak with your doctor if your current medicine isn't enough.
In my experience it's something which needs to be started off on a low dose up to the maximum of 600mg a day. You can't just take it like aspirin or paracetamol to cure a headache, I believe it takes time to get into your system to a point where you feel the effects of it. Trouble is you can't just stop taking it either, you have to reduce your dose over time just as you increased your dose when you started. Otherwise you can end up with the same side effects as a drug user who can't get their fix.
