You don't mention the source of your chronic pain or how long you've been taking the Tylenol 3. These factors can be important in deciding which, if any, pain medication should replace your current one. Your doctor would be the best person to recommend a new pain medication. Since you say your doctor has already been discussing this with you, surely he/she has made a recommendation?
