lala26; As you can tell from the previous answer it does kick in pretty quick hope this one works well for you if you still are having problems after a few trieds always check back with the doctor do not take more than what the bottle has on it. hope your feeling better soon.

Usually anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour, depending on your metabolism and what else you are eating/drinking within 2 hours of taking it. If you have certain antacids, or any food/drink high in tannins like tea, it can mess up your codeine metabolism.
