Hi there , I was reading your Question today . I know it’s been six years since you last asked this question.
I am having same problem . We are trying for a baby for last 3 years and I use ED drugs.
My question to you is that did you succeed to impregnate your wife by using ED drugs.
Please help me as I am being worried after reading a study which says that ED drugs can damage the fertility.
My husband and I were older when we met so when we tried to conceive I was 36 and he was 44. At first we thought it was taking awhile so we were checked and all was well. So we tried the Basal thermometer. It worked like a charm. We have 2 children now. Give it a try. Also when you really stop trying so hard that seems to be the time you get pregnant. Relax!
Good luck!
Thanks for your responses guys. We have been using an ovulation test kit for a year as well and stress is only creeping up now because we haven't been successful. My concern is these ED drugs that i need to take, I came across one test tube study on viagra which showed a marked reduction on fertility. But its a test tube study, I want to hear if this is going on with real people. Thats why I'm posting on this forum. Thanks
Getting pregnant, if everything is fine with both partners, is a matter of timing. One of the best methods is for a woman to check her cervical mucous. To do this she has to be comfortable and familiar with her body. It involves the female digitally obtaining mucous from high in the vagina from the cervical area. Normally a womans vaginal secretions will be thin and a cloudy whitish color. When she is ovulating and fertile, the secretions look clear and viscous-like egg whites. The secretions will stretch between the fingers during these days. The other days, they wont. This is the time to be having frequent sex-during the days when the secretions look like egg whites. A woman is only very fertile about three days out of her cycle and for some couples, especially busy ones, it is hard to get the timing right. If your woman pays attention to her cervical secretions and you have intercourse in that time, you should get pregnant in a cycle or two.
Another method involves daily temperature taking by the female first thing in the AM before she does anything else, even go to the bathroom, every morning at about the same time. She should record those temps. When she begins to get an elevation in basal temp, she is fertile and ovulating. This is a small rise in temp-probably 0.4 to 0.8 rise. This is the time to have sex. Remember also that sperm lives for a day or two in the womans body. Best of luck to you! Hopefully in about a years time, you are enjoying your new little one!
Maybe a little help from metformin could help. Other ways are get the kit at the pharmacy to see when her time to get pregnant is, it test hormone levels. I also heard a few days after her period is best time, and to keep a pregnancy calendar that keeps track of when you have sex and try to do it at often as possible, these are things that might be helpful.
